Room Request

As noted, one way to send an email to MS is by using the Contact Us section on the website and then sending an email using the email section that takes you to. You can also do it via the same Contact Us section and use Chat. However, even if you are not on the site, you can send an email to MS via its actual email address: Members@DisneyVacationClub.com

That's what I always do. In the last couple years, I've had CMs at check in comment on the room meeting my requests. I've also had one situation where I got a room that met none of my requests-it seemed as far off as possible.

I'm deeply old fashioned in that I always just call member services and put in my room requests with them - I'll often give a range of specific room numbers I'm hoping for, then as a secondary request, a general section or area.

I'll usually do it a few weeks after I book - so sometimes its as much as 9 months before my trip if I booked at the 10-11 month window, or 5-6 months if at the 7 mo. Other times I book a trip 3-4 months out, so I'll generally wait a few weeks then put in my requests.

How far in advance do you normally put in a room request ?
As soon after booking as I've decided what I'd like to have - so I don't forget to submit it. And also on the chance that IF two of us who are checking in on the same day have the same request, and IF only one room that fits that request will be available on checkin day, the room assigners might use the date of making the request to break the tie. But our requests are generally pretty generic, like "high floor," so we've had good luck. Our main disappointments occurred in the early years, when BW view was only a request, not a booking category, and we didn't get it.
