Room Request

I am sure this question has been asked already, so sorry for a repeat if it has, but...

How many days in advance should you call and request the room you want. I payed for preferred at All-Star Movies, and already called and asked to be in Buzz Lightyear with a king size bed. However, I called in about August and my trip is not until Dec. 30th.

When do you think I should call back and make sure that I get this room?

I call about 5 days from arrival and again at 3 days

Calling back won't serve any purpose. If it is noted on your reservation, you have already done all you can. Be aware though that even if your reqeusts are noted, there is no guarantee you will get them met. Ask at check in if your room meets you requirements and if it does not, have the CM see if there is a room open that does. That is all you can do.

There's no way to make sure you get this room. They could all be full the day you arrive.

You can't "make sure you get this room". A request is just that, a request. If the room is not available, then nothing can really be done. All you can do is make sure it is on your reservation (which you have already done) and then reiterate it when you check in. Make sure it is in order as to what is most important (is the Buzz Lightyear area more important then the King bed or Vise Versa).

As a side note, we NEVER book preferred at AS Movies and always get the exact building and floor we want. I guess that's the positive aspect of crazy early flights! It saves about $117, too, which should cover our QS dining bills.

i only put one request on my reservation...ground floor....got the 3rd
so it is just a request...

As everyone has said, if it's noted on your reservation, that's all you need. I usually do phone Reservations about a week or 2 before arrival just to double check that the request is noted on my reservation.

Usually I have been able to get my requests, once - last Jan, I wasn't able to. I think there was a big tour group, because we noticed on our walk to the bus stop that there were private busses in the parking lot of our requested buildings at POR. Never saw them in the food courts though.
