Room request suggestions: AKV Jambo GV, BLT GV MK view, PVB Standard Studio

We have a big family trip coming up over Thanksgiving week with my SIL and her family, whom we haven’t seen in over two years due to Covid (last visit was July 2019). We’re going all out since we had banked so many points and have a 3-split stay: Animal Kingdom Lodge Grand Villa (Jambo House) for 3 nights, Bay Lake Tower Grand Villa MK View for 1 night, and two Polynesian Standard View Studios (requested connecting) for the last night. These are our first Grand Villa stays, too, so we’re super excited (and very much intend to cook Thanksgiving dinner).

So what recommendations do folks have on what room requests we should make??

We’ve stayed at AKV before but not a GV, and Poly but only hotel side. This will also be our first BLT stay, and we do intend to watch the fireworks from the room, so we definitely want as good a view as possible. Are there rooms to avoid, or are all good?

Does anyone know if Tokelau’s refurb is done and Murphy beds added?

(Normally we wouldn’t do so much jumping, but this trip was originally 3 nights at Disney and a 3-night Cruise, and we decided to postpone the cruise to next year, and we decided we wanted to experience BLT and Poly even if it was jumping twice, rather than 2 nights at OKW or SSR.)

Thanks in advance!

I cannot speak to BLT. As for the Jambo House GV's, they are awesome. But there are only 5 or 6 of those rooms, so options are limited. The only request/hope we had was to avoid the GV that overlooked the pool and the flamingos by the Jambo pool. Those silly birds can be loud in the morning! We've also enjoyed the Poly studios, and when we stay there, we request rooms as far from the Ferry Boat landing as possible. The boat horns late and night and early morning were a nuisance. As you can probably tell, we're light sleepers. These items might not concern you! Enjoy your family holiday!

Oh, well, now my money is on the ones all the way at the end. Almost every stay we have at the AKV, that's where we end up... at the end. :P
The ones at the end might make for a longer walk, but they often have the best views! Don't miss out on at least a few minutes to sit on the ridiculously huge balcony the are available with the Jambo GV's. It's a spectacular place to start your day with coffee and breakfast, or an afternoon break. You also have a pool table in the room! I think we could spend an entire day or 2 just at the GV!

At the end would be my request for AKV GV! We've had one stay there and was in 5284 (I guess - per the map). Animal viewing was fine but we could hear the mechanical noise from the resort HVAC systems that are off the front side of the resort. Not terrible but it was noticeable. BLT MK GV - haven't done that but would request Direct MK view. I think they're all good though.

We have arrived! We’re in the AKV Jambo Grand Villa now. None of our requests were met, and we were placed in 5394, at the end of the hallway.

While these ARE Savanna view and you do see animals, folks should be aware that these are at the end of the loop and thus have short savanna and overlook the fences, maintenance road, and I think a maintenance pen/dividing pen between Arusha and Sunset Savanna. The tall trees prevent you from seeing further into the Arusha savanna. You can see the care facility off through the trees. I think the two bedrooms have the more interesting view as they can peak a little into Sunset Savanna. We’ll keep an eye out to see how many animals make their way into this area over the day. In the morning we saw a few grazing before they moved on.

Hope you enjoy the experience! Unfortunately, since there are only 5 or 6 of the GV's at Jambo, the chances of getting any specific request is very small. It's more the luck of the draw as to which room has someone leaving that day. Some of the GV's will have better views than others. They're all a bit different depending which spoke of the resort you are on.
