I don't usually make room requests but I am going to call to request a "non pet eligible" room as my dd and I are both extremely allergic. (is that the best way to ask LOL?)

So since I am calling I figured I would put in a request and hope for the best but honestly we aren't picky. We have visited Universal a few times but we have always stayed at Hard Rock and just for one night. This will be a longer stay - 6 nights and we are really looking forward to relaxing and seeing the resorts, restaurants, city walk in addition to the parks.

We have booked a King Suite - what would you suggest for a single Mom with two older daughters (late teens)? We don't mind walking to the parks and do want to visit the new hotel and cabana bay for a swim and or a meal or two.

Thanks in advance everyone :)

I always stay in the King suite at rpr

(And hrh)

Towers 1 and 3 have better views from the rooms

Tower 2 is the one that allows pets on the lower floors
I have been in the King suite rooms at that tower visiting friends and relatives

They have limited views from the King suite in that tower

Believe there are 24 King suites total at the hotel
Since they remodeled, I could be off in that number

Views in T 3 would be of the pool, water canal and portions of ioa

The rooms that are not facing that direction would be views of the front, highway and 2 of parking spaces

T1 has views of the pool, water canal and some of ioa
Similar to tower 3 but a different angle

Elevators from T 1 & 3 empty to ground level and about 2 minutes max from each other
T1. Very close to the walking path
T3 closer to boat dock but has walking path few feet away

My preferences is T3 due to the views I can get for ioa and pool

macraven, how do I go about putting in a request? I have a standard view 2 Queen room and definitely do not want to be in a pet friendly room.

Also which tower would you recommend for standard view rooms?

TIA!!!

Also looking for advice on which room. We are less interested in the view. We want a quick exit to the pool and to the walking path. Any suggestions? We'll be at RPR at end of August.

When we were at Hard ROCK in March we asked to be close to the walking path. We had,in our view, the best location for a standard room. We were on ground level, and a few doors down there was an exit that took you directly to walking path and the pool gate. It was perfect.

I want something similar for RPR.

Not Mac, but, For requests you can email or call the hotel directly and have your request added to your reservation.

Pet rooms are lower 2 floors of T2.

T3 and T1 for us have the best views........with a high floor of course.

Gigi.......closest tower for walking path is T1. Nothing is very far away at RPR as it's fairly compact and easy to navigate.

Call reservations and give them your reservation number and tell them you have a request to be added to the notes in your ressie

Tell them you want tower 3 with a park view

If it is full then you would want tower 1

Call back about 5 days out to the hotel directly
Ask to be transferred to the scheduler that assigns the rooms

Tell them you had a room request to be in tower 3 and ask if they can make it happen

Reason I suggest you make this call is to be sure that note is seen

I believed I asked this before but don't remember where it is. When is the best time to call and make a request for a room? We will be there end of October and I would like a park view room if possible we have a water view room booked.

I would call now and have it noted on your reservation.

Then call again around 5/6 days out.........

Today would be a good time

The earlier you have your request in, the better the chances of having it honored

Tower 1 that faces the pools by the end of the corridor ( turn right at the end of the hall once off the elevator )

Has views of small pool, water canal and dr doom and hulk
In portions

Tower 3 beyond the pool you can see dudleys and the castle when lit up at night

You can see other portions besides those mentioned above but depends on your view from your room

I mentioned the above as those were the most visible for me when I'm those towers at a high floor

Looking back I did answer you babesboo in another thread but it never hurts to repeat it

That is so true. I am just glad you don't mind repeating for me. Do you think tower 3 would be better?

I never mind repeating myself
Sometimes I add things I forgot to mention the first time

Lol

I have friends that love tower 1

I used to always stay in that tower but found the king suites in tower 3 were more interesting to me

So I switched and always stay T 3
I like the King suites and book them each trip

You can't go wrong with either tower
And I have had some great views in tower 1 which some would not consider to stay in

The section that faces the front of the hotel and at the end of the corridor from the elevator when you get off and do another right has views of the water canal and partial park
Foliage is higher now so not as much of a view if on a lower floor

This view you can see the boats coming and going
So easy to wait until you see them and then leave your room for the water taxi

In an older thread I posted the view from my room on 7 th floor tower 1 of the view
Also you can hear the sounds of the rides being tested early morning In That room

Most excellent !

Thanks for the rest of your answer.

Standard rooms can be a hit or miss for views

Especially if you have tower 2 as I feel they are about 25% great views and the rest range from highway/ front entrance or yuk

Sign up for Loews you first loyalty program on their website
Www.loewshotels.com

Join you first and it is free
After your visit you can get points on your stay
Have a 5 night stay and you earn two credits
Stay once a year and you keep your credits

Those at the blue level can request a free upgrade to a room if they are available

Standard room upgrade to pool view is free
But many are at blue level and request at check in time
It is not a guarantee to get the free upgrade

I am at platinum level so I never book thru a 3 rd party agency
Those bookings do not get credit for the stay
I get great perks so I have to keep my bookings going

I book a standard room and pay the discounted rate (smsm)
I can book the upgrade at the time I pay my deposit and it is guarenteed
At rpr the upgrade is king suite
At pbh it is a sweeter deal but pbh is not my favorite

At gold level upgrades can be made in advance or at check in with an additional charge of $50 per night

Book standard no view for rpr upgrade to King suite or upgrade for free to water view

With that in mind, chances of a free upgrade from standard to water view at rpr is limited at check in for someone just starting the you first program

Peeps not in YouFirst can also request free room upgrade and do get it if the hotel has it available
But that usually happens when the hotels have low occupancy during your stay

Rpr calls it water views
This means a view of the pool, either one, or the water canal

At pbh water view would be the boat dock area or the pools
They have 3 pools

I do not remember your dates booked so can't guess how full the hotel would be during your stay

If you plan to spend time in your room looking out the window, upgrade now to water view

If you plan to spend time at the pool, which is a must, save the money with standard view

When you check in ask the TM at the desk to show you a view of the room you 're assigned
They can do that on their computer

If you don't like it ask for another room
It is possible they will get you in a room that will please you

You have to remember this is not Disney and the hotels are Loews

They strive for guests satisfaction without having to (beg) ask.....

Star service is at Loews hotels
In your room on the phone a button marked star service is a free service

Need more blankets or pillows , more shampoo or drinking glasses, toilet paper, free newspaper, taxi called, etc

Call star service
Also if you forgot shaving creme, toothbrush, comb or any toiletries
Star service will bring it to your room with no charge

Sorry got off the subject with your question but I was reading your mind and knew you wanted info on that stuff
Lol

Hahaha
Did not answer the question

Standard room is not necessarily a park view room

Can be the front lawn, highway, parking area of staff, partial of park or water view

I just wanted to say thank you once again. I called the hotel and requested my room with a pool/ park view, and if I can only have one which would it be I decided on the Pool. The person also asked me if we are celebrating anything and I said yes we are celebrating our twins birthday and she asked how old will they be and I said 10. She was very nice and helpful and I was surprised she asked that. Didn't know that Universal can celebrate birthdays I love this made me very happy.

The hotel and parks are big on things like that

If you do not get the buttons when you check in, go to guest services and ask for them

Staff in the parks and hotels enjoy helping you celebrate

They will celebrate any occasion you put on your reservation request

If you have a pool view, you'll also have a partial park view

You gave the right answer

Following along as I had a similar question. Just wanted to say a great big "Thank You!" to Macraven and Schumigirl for all the wonderful advice and information. Can't wait to be there next month. You guys are the best!
