Room request question

I know requests are not guaranteed but is it possible to request a certain room? I know there is a good chance we won't get it but will they know what we are looking for by requesting one room over a floor?

Also, when we booked our room we had to split ther reservation at BWV because they only had Boardwalk View available our last night. We waitlisted for preferred for that one night so we wouldn't have to move, can I now call and waitlist for Boardwalk view for the entire thing or will it always be split now. Will they let us change it to all one reservation now?

You can request a specific room if you don't care if you get it or not. I would never do that. I would instead request the things that make you want that specific room. Maybe it's the view, maybe it's the location, but stating those kinds of things will help them understand exactly what it is you want in case that particular room is still occupied with previous occupants.
