Hi guys,

I'm not sure if it's worth it but I was thinking about called WDW and reitterating our request for connecting rooms. Our reservation has 'ajoining rooms as parents travelling with children' on it, but I heard there is a difference between ajoining (just being close together) and connecting (having the door between the rooms). Connecting rooms is what I'm after!

I'm not too fussed about location, would prefer AB over the mansions, but the connecting rooms are important to us.

We are due to check in on Thursday early evening - do you think it's worth the call?

TIA :cheer2:

it probably wouldn't hurt, since it's very important to you...
they do have lots of connecting rooms, but since it's so important, you could call...
and you're right - adjoining doesn't mean connecting...

Thanks Beth - will just swallow the international call cost and give them a ring tonight.

Would I need to get my disney booking reference from Virgin before I am able to speak to someone at Disney or will they be able to find our reservation using names/arrival dates etc?

i've never booked other than directly with Disney, so i can't answer that..

someone else on the board would know the answer..
but if i were guessing, i'd say you need some sort of disney reference for them to be able to find you..

but before calling you should check with the virgin experts...

Well I just rang Virgin to see if they could give me the Disney reference and it's not been released on my booking yet... holy goodness gracious me.... does that mean they may not have made the booking??

Breathe... it will all be fine....!!!!!!!

hi if you ring disney they should have you on their system i dont go til nov and they have me and ive not booked through disney so im sure they will be very helpful

Thanks - if I'm not able to get the number from Virgin this evening I'm going to call disney and see if they can find us on the system, cross your fingers for me!

Yay I've spoken to virgin and got my Disney references, called the call centre and got my requests confirmed, is a huge weight off my shoulders I honestly thought virgin didn't make our reservation!!

Thanks everyone x

A bit of information - having connecting rooms is a request and not guaranteed even though it is noted on your reservation. Disney tries its best to honor requests, but often there are more requests than available rooms so it's worth calling and reiterating your request. Good luck!

Thanks :) while I was talking to them I did conciously say 'request' when I was asking as I know they can not guarantee, but I can happily say I've done everything in my power to hopefully make it happen so now just have my fingers crossed for a little pixie dust pixiedust:

i think they really try with the connecting rooms - they don't want little kids in rooms by themselves without supervision.

there are over a 1,000 connecting rooms at POR so i would think it's not that much of an issue...

Downloaded the Skype app, going to try it in August when we ring for Matt's results, 1.4p/min I believe to ring UK.:thumbsup2

for us it's free to any local landline, and very cheap to mobile (i don't know the rate)...
and the international to landlines/mobiles is also very cheap..

he's constantly calling all over the world....when he switched to skype he reduced our phone bill by at least a thousand dollars!!!
