We stayed at VWL last October and had the best view ever!!(We have been to that
DVC 4 times in the past.) We were in room 4511, a designated 2BR and had a view of the quiet pool and the lake from our balcony. It was wonderful! We could hear the music and see a lot of the water paprade every evening.
Except for the few rooms that overlook the quiet pool, most villa rooms offer wonderful woodland views.
A quote from "the Unofficial Guide to WDW" states that the best villa rooms are the odd numbered rooms 2531 - 2563 and 3531 - 3563 (not sure if any of these are 2 BRs, though) because they open to the northeast, or lakeside, of the resort, but not to count on a water view because of all the trees. Maybe we were able to see the water because we were higher up. Rooms on the opposite side of the wing (even numbers) offer the same views but with some parking lots visible and minimal traffic noise.
Also, the walk to the bus stop is wonderful! only about 3 minutes from the elevator! Even closer then if you are staying at the resort instead of the villas. They have even added a bus from the resort that goes directly to MK -- only takes about 5 - 7 minutes from pick-up to get you to the gate. Originally, the only way to get to MK was by boat ... fun, but it took much longer and the walk to the dock takes a while from the villas.
I would think requesting an odd number room on the 3rd floor or higher should do the trick, but don't worry too much if you don't get one because we have always been happy with our view!
Hope this helps! -Jennie
