We'll be at BRV 9/1/18 - 9/11/18, staying in a studio using rented points. My daughter has epilepsy and has tonic clonic seizures (previously referred to as Gran Mal) once or twice per month. God forbid it happens on our vacation, but it's a possibility. I think I'm okay with dealing with the issue while at the parks, but I would like to know what studio to request that would make emergency access the easiest and quickest. Should I request through TouringPlans or directly through the resort? We are not concerned about any type of view, just ease of access to emergency personnel if required. I've looked at maps on TP, it looks like the ground floor studios closest to the bus stop might be good. Thanks for any help, y'all.

I just stayed at BRV, and they have some "redrum" halls....you know the ones that go on forever & ever & ever......

You certainly don't want that.

Explain your medical situation & Ask resort directly for possibility of ground floor near front doors. When you exit out BRV....the "street" for emergency vehicles would be immediately to your left.
So whether you needed an ambulance, or your personal car..... the lot is immediately to your left (as you exit the wooden covered pathway) . Good Luck. :wave2:
My friends daughter has Grand Mal seizures so I understand your situation.

My family loves WL, so I hope you have a great time. ::yes::

Thanks, 'beans! Redrum halls, lol. We've seen those before at AKL. This is our first time at WL and I'm sure we're going to love it. Thanks for the advice.:thanks:

You need to contact the member you are rentingpoints from to make any request. DVC will not talk to you
Okay. I don't actually know who it is because I rented through David's, but I'll contact them.

I have thought about your response all day. While I appreciate the info and am certain you are 100% correct, your post would have come across much less snobby without the "DVC will not talk to you" line tacked on the end. That was not necessary and added nothing to your post. It actually comes across as something you felt the need to say in order to put me in my place. Again, thanks for answering my question.

All I can say is WOW!!!!
The info you seem so offended by is an important clarifier Also you could have used Conversations to lecture me in private. So much more considerate

Yes, for requests, you'll want to contact David's. They'll ask the member to call DVC Member Services and have your requests put on your reservation.

Letting you know that DVC Member Services won't speak with you about the reservation isn't being snobby or putting you in your place, it's an important, helpful piece of information that's often mentioned on this board in situations such as yours. Those renting points often aren't aware that they won't be able to contact DVC to make requests or reservation changes.

DVC resorts do not accept faxes. You need to contact the member whose points were used to make the reservation to add any requests.

The hallways at BRV are not that long, nothing like the BWV or Kidani Village. Elevators are centrally located. If you need an ambulance Reedy Creek will be the one to respond and they are extremely familiar with the resorts.

Standard response to anyone renting points. It's very reasonably surmised that most point renters aren't aware they aren't permitted to contact Member Services.

That's surprising, since it's all over every website, purchase agreement and FAQ for every point rental company I researched, but okay.

Nobody responding to a specific posts can be expected to be aware of what the original or a previous poster knows or has read or searched, unless that person provides all information about what they already know or read or searched.

And yet there are a high number of posters here that have no idea of that fact. Which is why we usually give more details/information than just answering the original question with a yes or no.

Rms 1501,1502 and 1503 are studios on the corner by the walkway.

We stayed in 1501 a few years ago and had no issues

You can walk out the sliding door to the outside and the front door was right next to side entrance

When we got there we were concerned about possible noise but had no issues

I wouldn't request a specific villa, just a floor or category. If that villa is occupied when you arrive, the room assigner has no idea what you are looking for.

Excellent point. I was planning on explaining our situation (NOT TO DVC :flower3:) and not just requesting a specific villa, but I didn't make that clear. Thank you!
