Room request at the Dolphin

Can you request a certain room/floor at the Dolphin? If so, what should I request? We've currently got booked a Lakeview room at the AP discount. We do have a Starwood card, but there are not enough points on it for an upgrade. Do they have the heavenly beds there as well? We've stayed only once before and basically just took what we got - it was okay, but just wondering if I could get a better room by making certain requests. Thanks!

Anyone know? - we're leaving in the morning. Should I just wing it again? I really would like to have the heavenly beds if they are available. Maybe I should just ask for that and hope for the best.

As far as I know all the rooms have been renovated and you will have the Heavenly beds...the lakeview will be great...since you are SPG, just mention it at check-in if ther are any complimentary upgrades available...an ubobstructed view of MGM or Epcot perhaps? That would be a sweet upgrade! Even so, you will have a wonderful room and trip! Enjoy! We are supposed to leave for the Dolphin in 2 weeks but may have to cancel, so I am living thru everyone elses trips!

Thanks Pam!! I didn't know all of the rooms had the beds, so that's good to know. Last trip, our room had not been renovated - it was still good - but have just heard so many good things about those heavenly beds and was looking forward to giving them a try. I also didn't know they would do complimentary upgrades if they had them - thought you had to use Starwood points. Thanks for the info!

Last trip, we were upgraded to a balcony room with an Epcot fireworks view at no charge and without making any requests and very few points on our SPG card. Just make sure your SPG number is on your reservation.

I was upgraded last July to an Epcot view balcony room - Fantastic room! 8th floor - east wing (0821). Our view of Illuminations each night from our balcony was priceless!!!

I don't think it would hurt to politely request a specific view or floor.

OMG!! We just got home, and I had to brag!! We had the most awesome room - I didn't want to leave. When I made the reservation, I asked for a king-sized bed, knowing it wasn't guaranteed, but just made the request anyway - not a big deal. While we were checking in (by the way, with one of the nicest employees I've ever encountered), I doublechecked that all the rooms had the heavenly beds which she assured me of. We laughed, and I said, that's really my only want on this trip. At this point, I had decided not to request anything beyond that because we had not planned to be at the room during Illuminations anyway, so had decided to let someone else have that luxury. She's keying everything in, and then she said, "Wow!! You've got a king room!! People have been asking for them all day long, and I've had to turn them down. I thought they were all gone." Well, cool, now I'm thrilled - king-sized heavenly bed - nothing else more I could want. Wrong!! We get off the elevator, and I realize, "Oh, Lord! Our room is at the end of the hallway - that's not going to be fun at the end of a long day!" We FINALLY make the long treck to the room, only to be stunned when we open the door. Not one balcony, but TWO!! HUGE picture window on one wall and the second balcony sliding door on the other wall. The room was gorgeous!! The main balcony on the corner was alot bigger than the "standard" balcony on the other side - isn't that crazy? - we would have been thrilled with just the regular balcony - but it was so nice sitting out there in the mornings drinking coffee and watching the ducks on the lake. We had so much fun!!
