Room request at Coronado Springs

We are traveling to WDW in early Oct and have booked Coronado Springs because all of our other choices(Poly, WL, CBR, POR) were full. We are taking our two boys ages 4 & 7. I have heard that some of the rooms here can be quite a distance from the pool, food court, and bus stops. Any suggestions on which buildings to request?

I am hoping the hotel still is pretty kid friendly. I am also suddenly terrified that the parks will be too crowded over this weekend! We originally planned to go in the fall instead of spring because of this.

We will be at CSR in early October, too and I have been looking for the same info, Michael799. It looks to me like the consensus is that Cabanas 9B is the closest to both the Dig Site and El Centro.

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with any of the cabana buildings or ranchos 7b if location is your only concern. Cabana 8a is the closest to the main pool area (The Dig Site) and bus stop #4. Cabana 9b is the closest to the main building where the store and food areas are located. Cabana 8b and 9a and in between. Rancho 7b is behind cabana 8a. A cmplete map can be found on my website below. The further you go from the main building the longer your walk. Rancho 7b and cabana 8a are about a 7 minute walk. The whole loop around the lake is just over a mile and the average person can walk a mile in 15-20 minutes so your walk isn't as long as some guests make it sound. Cabana 9b is 100 yards from the main building and 50 yards from bus stop #1. It is just a short walk over the bridge to the Dig Site.
