Room Request Advice

We are staying at AKV Kidani in a 1bdrm. Any particular locations I should request? We always request ground floor, but are all rooms close to the pool?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Congrats on AK - we love Kidani & are going back in November (was just this morning at 7 months were able to move my Mom's reservation over to Kidani as well!).

Kidani is very very large, and some rooms can be very very far from the pool. If you read through some of the other threads about Kidani you will find this repeated often. We request to be on 2nd fl (same as lobby, 1st floor is actually all the parking under the villas) near Rafiki elevator. This is on the pool side of the resort. 1st trip we got the perfect unit - short walk to both lobby & pool on main level, hoping for the same next time.

The savannah views are great, but even if you don't use the extra points for this feature there are lots of areas to view the animals all over the resort as well.

You probably are also aware that the nearest counter service food is over at Jambo - about a 10 minute walk from Kidani lobby. Or you can hop on any bus (except Downtown Disney) as they stop at Jambo after picking up at Kidani. Kidani has sit down meals at Sanaa and a limited menu at the pool for take-out. The simplest way to word this request is "ground floor near pool" That tells the room assigner exactly what is important to you.

There are no ground floor rooms at Kidani. They start on the 2nd floor. The first floor is parking.

I would request Sunset Savanna, close to lobby. The animals spend most of their time close to the lobby area. I stayed there in 2009 right after it opened and was on the inner part of the "horseshoe" and we didn't see many animals. Only the Sunset Savanna has giraffe, the Pembe Savanna has Okapi.
