yeah definitely didnt want a smoking debate..this was to find out if anyone had ever heard of someone being charged the recovery fee..didnt know about rules regarding smoking threads, though..should read closer..
My mom smokes (even with breast cancer) and yells at me that smokers have rights. I agree but I should not have to suffer becuase of her habit. Many smokers do not realize that the smoke gets on their clothes/ hair and is left on anything they touch.
And I think a lot of non-smokers don't really get how they come across with statements like this, that make it sound like it isn't just the habit but also the person who does it that is unwelcome.

And I don't think some smokers realize that the people that care very deeply about them are forced into watching them harm themselves.
No person is unwelcome because of their choice to smoke, and I'm sorry that is how you feel about some comments that were made.

I'm not a smoker myself, though several loved ones are. I know what it is to wish a loved one would quit, but I'm also close enough to a couple of smokers to know how hurtful comments that make the scent of smoke on their clothes sound just as dangerous as lighting up can be. Smoking has become a very acceptable prejudice these days, and I really don't think non-smokers realize sometimes how their dislike of the habit can come across.
There is a rule. Smoking threads should be discussed on the community board. If it is a specific to the smoking areas at Disney it needs to be posted in the DSA sticky thread.
