Room Recommendation AKL?

hi everyone, i think we have decided to stay at AKL next sept. We are getting ready to book our trip and i have heard people talking about requesting a certain room or wing. Do you just ask at the time of booking? If so what area/wing/room's are the best? We are planning to book a savannah room. thanks!!

We booked a pool view room and requested the Zebra Trail. We did so because you can see the savanna as you walk down the hall to the rooms. I would imagine that this is a good location for a savanna view room (on the other side of the hall from the pool view rooms) due to easy access to the pool and Mara (which are right below). We haven't been there yet, but based on the map this location looks like it would be good for our family. Can't wait to go!

We more often than not, request the Zebra Trail, pool view, have it added right away to our reservation when we book. Several times we have been given an upgrade to savannah view but still on the Zebra Trail, we love that location
