Room ready changed…

Vgc room was ready at 12:45 pm yesterday đŸ˜€ When we stayed at BLT and arrived at like 10 AM they had a room ready as well đŸ˜€ no issues here, except we've never been granted a late checkout, have asked twice, is that a possibility for dvc?

No, it's not a thing for DVC rooms. All rooms must be vacated by 11. Hotels can do that because they often have 20-40% available rooms, except in very high season. DVC is a timeshare, so an occupancy near 98-100% daily all year.

I'm inclined to be a little more forgiving because it's a timeshare---they don't have the same slack capacity that hotels often do.

Honestly in my travels 4pm is already late in the day. If they need to hire more people then hire more people as it would make such a little difference to MFs likely. A random few times going past 4pm to like 5pm is fine. Rooms routinely being ready at 6/7/8pm that some people seemingly are fine with is really what I am talking about.

Each housekeeper is possibly $0.015-$0.025 per point. You hire more if you can't have the rooms ready by 4pm.

In the end the resorts I stay at it seem to never have this issue.

The problem isn’t steady state. The problem is unexpected issues with a room. Those are rare—otherwise we’d be hearing about much later check ins regularly. But it does mean that once in a while someone gets a room late.

You don’t build a church for Easter Sunday.

I guess we got lucky on our Feb RIV stay...was granted a late checkout (standard studio). It helped tremendously, as my wife ran the half-marathon that day and gave her a little extra time to get ready. I think they pushed our check out time to 2pm which lined up well with our 6pm flight.

I 100% agree.

I checked in at VDH on 5/4. I got my room ready text at 6:30 AM. I was barely awake or out of bed. It helped get me moving so I could head over there. I was shocked it was so early.

On my March trip, I did not get a room ready text at AKV until about 6:45 PM when the Uber was pulling up to the gate of the resort. I guess it was ok since I did not arrive until then (flight landed around 5:15-5:30 I believe and then we got stuck in some traffic on our way to the resort). My room at the Riviera a few days later was ready about 11 AM. My friends who arrived at the Riviera the same day did not get their text until about 5-6 PM, but I believe they did not realize they had an issue with their credit card on file. I really think it is all luck of the draw on a given day.

I never got a text for VGF, we were at MK all day and night so I didn't care. Arrived at 11 pm, was concerned there wasn't a room for us, but thankfully there was so non issue there đŸ¤£

Does anyone know the process for DVC room cleaning? Do they remove all the cookware/flatware/glasses and replace with previously cleaned items, clean it all in room, or just look to clean what has been used? Just curious how much the kitchen items add to the room turnaround time for a DVC villa vs. a Disney hotel.

10 days until the Riviera for us......1 night in studio and then 7 in a 1 Bedroom. Fingers crossed for a early check in when we move.:stitch2::stitch2::stitch2:

We recently stayed at BWVs. 1BDR (son #1), 2BDR (son#2 ad myself). (10 total)

Son #1 - Villa not ready until after 5 pm. We felt it was a bit late. Our two parties were the only two families left in the lobby.

(Bell Service issue - Son #1 - Bell Services lost one carry-on/this was found/fell off cart and waiting for someone to claim it. One perishable grocery bag. Gone. Must have been given to another guest.)

Son #2 - Villa ready 4:15 pm. We were told two hours prior it was waiting to get inspected. 4:15 pm not bad.......but two hours to get inspected? Was someone not telling the truth? Or slow service?

(Again -Once Villa ready, Son #2 walked over to get our luggage and groceries at Bell Services/we were all waiting in the lobby at this point. He was told they would be right behind us. 5 pm. Nothing. Son#2 goes down to ask to bring it up himself and was told someone just went out. So no shower or unpacking until after 5pm).

Not the end of the world but a bit annoyed. Meanwhile - at least 10 CMs working in the lobby. Don't know what the problem is but I think they need more housekeepers.

Not sure what and how they clean, but I wash all items before using them. If we are a party of 4 - 4 bowls, 4 flat dishes, 4 cups, etc. etc. Will wash more as needed.
