Room rate discount question

Short of getting an annual pass or becoming a FL resident, how can I get a discount on a deluxe resort room during regular season? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You generally get a small discount (10-15%) if you are a AAA member. I'm not sure if those discounts are out for 2007 yet.

Otherwise it's really up to the "whim" of Disney marketing as to whether or not the general public can get anything. The big thing this year has been the free dining.

If you book a complete WDW package and belong to AAA can you still manage any kind of discount?

AAA discounts can be applied to a room-only or package reservation. I received a AAA discount on a Beach Club room-only ressie in Feb and they didn't even ask for the card at check-in. I believe the AAA membership was approximately $45 and I saved about $200 with the discount, so it does help. You can make all of the reservations yourself (which is what I prefer). Hope this helps.

So then what you are saying is that if I were to plan everything out and I was a AAA member when I called disney to book my entire package (meaning tickets, hotel, dining, etc.) then they would still apply the AAA discount to the room or something..and it might take some money off my total package price...Also do u know how long you need to be a AAA member for...if I am not one now can I sign up and then get the discount right away?

If you want to do a package with dining, tickets and room, you will have to go through an AAA agent and have them book it.

If you want just the room only discount then you can book directly with Disney, tell them you are an AAA member (most will ask you for your number so you must join before) and they can look and see if there are any discounts available for your room type, catergory, location, etc.

You don't have to be a member for any length of time to get the discount.
