Hello Grand Floridian Veterans, I hope you can help!! We are in the process of making plans for our December vacation and thought we would try the Grand Floridian. Since it is an Anniversary trip we have decided to splurge on Concierge. When I went to the WDW website and chose GF, it gave me two choice, Concierge Main Building, and Concierge, Deluxe King, Main Building. Is the Concierge Deluxe the same as the Octagonal Honeymoon Room or is this something different? I looked high and low and can't find any info. I called WDWTC and they gave me the same description that is on the website.

Can anyone help? :) We would love to stay in the main building and an assured King Bed is always a plus. Just not sure what "deluxe means"--more space would always be a plus!!

Have a great night!!:flower3:

The "Concierge Deluxe King" designation does indeed mean the honeymoon rooms. However, there are 2 types, and you can only place a request with IPO (the Itinerary Planning Office) as to which you'd prefer, but nothing is a guarantee.

There are 6 of the octagonal honeymoon rooms - these offer panoramic views of the GF grounds, beach, monorail, and some have views of the MK. They have a unique layout, but do not include balconies - just lots of windows.

There are also (I believe 9) rooms in a private wing on the 2nd floor of the Main Building, situated just above Gasparilla Grill & Games. This is called the Clarenden Level, and are all honeymoon rooms. They seem to be a bit larger than the standard GF rooms, but have a similar layout. They do have a jacuzzi bathtub, balconies, and a direct view of Cinderella Castle.

All these rooms have a guaranteed king bed.

My DH and I stayed in one of these rooms last December - although I requested the octagonal room, we were given one of the rooms on the Clarenden Level. I was a bit worried about this at first (mainly worried about possible noise from Gaspie's), but we ended up really enjoying the room - and the view couldn't be beat! We would not hesitate to go back - we're actually thinking of bumping up our GF GV reservation to the honeymoon room again this December.

I have pics, and have been derelict in getting those on the GF FAQ thread. You can check there over the next few days - as well as ask questions of the experts. Lots of great GF fans on that thread!
