I'm wondering which you find more important when picking your WDW resort. For instance, I love the looks of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but it is so far to one side of the whole WDW area, that I'm not sure I would ever stay there. And while I love the location of the Boardwalk Studios, they look pretty blah.

So which is do you find the be the deciding factor when choosing your resort, the location of the resort, or the look of the room itself?

I said other because Location AND Theme are important to me. We chose Location the one time we stayed at the Poly and my DH was uncomfortable the whole time because he did not like the theming (we love him anyway ;)) Lucky for us we all love the location and theme at the BC and BW. Maybe if it was a long trip I wouldn't mind the location of AKL but I have to be conveninent to parks because we only get to go once a year for 3-4 days.

That's why you've gotta go with the YC/BC - location and look of the room are both great! Plus, there is the awesome pool SAB. I lucked out and booked YC for our trip at not much more than AKL woud have been. Just all about the dates you are going...

Neither the look of the room or the location of the resort is important to me.

The location of the room within the resort is what matters most.

We are all about the Resort and the rooms our favourites are AKV, BLT and GFV. We also love the Treehouse Villas.

I ask for a King Room. Where it is at in CBR is of little importance. I use the room to sleep and shower. Other than that, it is all about the Mouse!!! :mickeyjum

We use our room to sleep and shower. And because we don't care about views from our room, or size of the room, we really never cared where they put us. We are all upwardly mobile and healthy so it never mattered.

However, after having to trek to our room (which was at the farthest point from the lobby and bus stops) in pouring rain and lightning several times on our last trip, we are now firm believers that the location of the room within the resort is actually important :)

The room itself and the location are both equally important to me. Usually when I'm down to two choices I go with either the one my kids want or the one that has the better discount %. :D

definitely the location of the resort. I love the ability to walk to epcot and HS or MK so we stick with the epcot or mk resorts

Other for me. I like experiencing different resorts so staying somewhere I either haven't stayed before or after a significant renovation in a place I have stayed are more important than resort location or specific room.

I only stay at Disney properties or Swolphin because I refuse to drive on vacation and have no intention of staying DVC because I can cook and clean at home. I am also one of those people who does like to use a lot of resort amenities, enjoys hanging out in the room, and likes a pretty view. If that means more walking and going less often because of the added expense, so be it!

I didn't find AKL out of the way of the parks and we never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus, though I went during early February 2012 when slow seasons still existed. Beautiful resort, fun pool, awesome dining, great activities. Have not stayed at BW and won't on principle of the creepy clown slide. Ditto for POFQ and the jester head motif no matter how much people gush over its awesomeness. YC/BC though - it's neck-and-neck with Poly for the next visit.

I choose other cause of the size of the room. I love the Beach Cub decor, location and overall atmosphere, but I just find there rooms to small. If they were the size of the Polynesian rooms I dont think I would stay anywhere else.

I chose other. We chose to stay at our favorite, CBR, for many reasons other than the resort location and the look of the room. Although both are great at CBR, it's not why we fell in love with it.

Other - Best deal is the first thing I consider. After that, then the resort and room size are about even.

I picked other, because both theming of resort and room are important, and location of resort and room.
We aren't park commandos, and enjoy mid day breaks at our resort to enjoy the amenities. So the over all theming of the resort is important. CR does nothing for me, location may be great but theming or lack of does nothing for me. I much prefer a resort with pretty grounds

Theme of the resort matters way more to me than the location of the resort. We actually liked our stay at POP better than POR in a lot of ways. We are going for Animal Kingdom Lodge this trip and are super excited. This is the dream resort for DS who is really into animals and we love the food at Sanaa. We drive so as long as we are on Disney property then transportation doesn't matter to us in the least. I think room location within the resort can really affect your overall experience though.

I know Animal Kingdom may seem like it is so far away from everything but once you stay there I think you will love it. We are getting ready to stay there for the second time and we love it. It is a beautiful peaceful resort. The bus rides were only about 15 minutes everywhere we went and it really doesn't even seem like you are on the bus that long. Another big advantage that I liked about Animal Kingdom is that it doesn't share a bus with any other resort so you know when you get on that bus that all you are picking up is Jambo house and Kidani and then heading to the parks. When we stayed at Bay Lake we stopped at several other resorts before actually getting to the parks and it seemed like it took a lot longer to get anywhere and the buses were very crowded then.
