how hard is it to change a room only to a full package with dinning and tickets...is it diffucult to do it last minute like a month before

yes i have been wondering this too. Especially since I wanted to use my Disney rewards points to pay the deposit. Can I use rewards points for a deposit, and if so what will happen when I want to change to a package?

When I switched a room only to a package a few years ago, they were able to apply my old deposit to the new reservation. (at least I think they did...I'd have to go back and check)

Keep in mind, if you switch to a package less than 45 days from check in, you will be required to pay the balance of your package at that time.

EDIT: I just checked, and my original deposit was refunded and then I was charged the $200 deposit.
So, if you really want to do this you'll have to make sure that you can cover the new deposit (and possibly the balance) without your original one night deposit. It can take a bit for the refund to post to your account.

ok thanks for the info...i want to book a room only now instead of waiting till i have the full amount of money for the package...i dont want to risk no availbilty..i will have the full amount of money less then 45 days before my arrival...if that makes any sense

That officially makes it a package and you can upgrade to the actual number of ticket days and dining that you actually want when you have the money.

But if you change from a room-only to package (ANY package) and you are within 45 days before the trip, you must pay in-full IMMEDIATELY. That means pay the entire cost of all the room nights, it doesn't only mean pay for the tickets. It also means you can't apply your initial room-only deposit to the deal, you have to wait to get that refunded back to the original form of payment.

You can use your reward points for the deposit, but if you do that and cancel the room only and change to a package, the room only would have to be cancelled/refunded (with the reward points going back on your rewards card) and a package booked, requiring a new $200 deposit.

This would be my suggestion if you have the money by the 45 day mark to cover all nights hotel plus a 1 day base ticket for everyone in the room. Then when you have the money, upgrade your tickets and add the DDP. Keep in mind that the DDP must be added at least 3 days prior to arrival. Good luck.
