Room only reservation question

I am trying to book a room only reservation for now and am going to add the tickets/dining later. They don't have a room only reservation for the date/room I want. However if I add an extra day onto the reservation they have the room/resort I want. My question is: if I book the longer stay, can I call in later and cancel the extra day and still keep the same room?

Answers in your other thread, but no. If it's not available as a new booking for the shorter stay disney won't modify.

Okay - that's an issue I have NEVER seen. You can't book for a shorter stay with the same days? That's just weird. I'd call before giving up on what you want.

No. That changed some time last year. You have to re-book the entire trip based on availability.

I had this happen the last trip I booked. I could book the whole ten days as two stays in any combination of nights, but not a single stay. Disney couldn't help me on the phone. I ended up booking the desired stay and resort at a better deal thru a travel agency.

Also, if you want the dining plan later you will have to re-book as a package because you cannot add dining to a room only reservation. Packages and room only reservations have different deposits, payment deadlines and change penalties.
