We have a room booked at CR for next February--just ds and myself. I invited my parents to join us (perhaps for only part of the trip) but they do the majority of the care for my grandparents and will not be able to commit very far out.

If it's a room only reservation, is there any restriction on how late I can add people? (I know with three adults we'll be subject to the $10 fee per day)

You can add them at anytime, even as late as check in. However, if you will be using DME and they are not on the reservation before arrival, I don't think they would be able to use it. Hopefully someone will be able to give more information on that as we've never used DME. Also, I wanted to add that for the deluxe resorts, the extra adult fee is $25 per person per night. If they will not be there the entire time, it's probably better to add them at check in so you only pay the extra fee for the nights they're actually there. Otherwise, if you add them now, the extra fee would be figured in for the entire stay. HTH :).

CR is a deluxe resort, so the fee will actually be $25.00 per for the extra adult; plus some change if they stay the entire week. With one adult, you pay 175% of double occupancy. If they stay a few days, you will most likely just pay the one adult fee.

For a room only, you also have a lot more flexibility and can even add them when they check-in for the days they stay there. It only becomes critical if you need ME, and you can book that when you get to the resort.

How wonderful for you to give them some wonderful time off.....

Thank you. Guess I didn't realize there was a $25 fee per day! Regardless, I'm pretty sure they won't stay the whole time we're there AND they'll be driving from Georgia so no need to ME.

Confused...what is the 175% of double occupancy??

You said you were staying with you and your DS. You said you only expected to pay the $10.00 fee, which at the value resort would be for one of the adults. That means to me you are paying for double occupancy already just for yourself, which means you pay for 3/4 of double occupancy for a solo adult. I do this on several trips when I travel solo. It iw an industry standard.

If I add a 2nd adult, there is a 25% extra fee to make up the difference between one and two adults. Then there is a standard fee for the 3rd and 4th adult.

Your response is a good way to segue into someone interpreting that they can knowingly exceed the room occupancy. Sometimes, long time posters like myself, post short concise answers so we can respond to more posts and help more people in a short amount of time.

Just a word of advice, your post could be totally misconstrued by the average person who is not aware of room occupancy.

Your response does not fit your screen name.:lmao: There are tons of ways to get over on Disney, however posting them on here will not bode well for you. Keep the tips/secrets to yourself and be happy to save some money in the process.:teacher:

You're right on the first part...I had forgotten that there was a difference in "adult fee" for the different resorts.

Still confused about the second part. I just priced out my room three ways...1A 1C, 2A 1C, 2A and the price was the same each time. The only time I saw a difference was when I changed it to show 3A 1C and THEN the price increased by $196 (roughly $28 per day presumably for that third adult).
