Room only discounts in May?

I usually go in the Fall season -- late Sept to early Nov -- and have always been able to get substantial room discounts. Travelling solo or with one other person room discounts pay off better than FD. However, next year I will probably be going in Regular season, mid May, or possibly Value 1, January.

I know the discounts are to get people to come in slow seasons. Do they do discounts in May? "Regular" season sounds like it's not at all a slow time. I've considered late January, but I'm concerned about the weather and ride closures, not to mention having only about 4 month to plan a trip.

Before we took advantage of the AP discount this past May, we were booked with a RO offer. Our dates were May 15 - 20. Hope this helps.

The last couple of trips I have stayed offsite in a one bedroom condo (Westlake Town Center and Wyndham Bonnet Creek) because their prices beat even an AP discount at a Value or Moderate. I go to WDW every year, either the first or second week. Prior to discovering the great deals to be had at Bonnet Creek though, I always used a discount. Most years it was an AP discount, but a few years ago the pay for four nights, get three nights free deal beat the AP discount at POFQ, so I went with that. I have never not gotten a discount for my May trips and like I said I go every year in early May.

Most of our trips to Disney have been mid to late May and we have taken advantage of a special offer at least three of them (probably more but I didn't go back and look at my reservations but do remember at least three). I believe this past trip, we had a 20% (or possibly 25%) discount on our room and our tickets were lower as well.

What resort did you stay at? Trying to see the % discount breakdown between Value/Mod/Deluxe.

We were at Caribbean Beach Resort for our package. We stayed at French Quarter for one night and the discount was only 5% off our room.

we had 30% off our room at POR May 5 - 17, 2013.

Promo was released Jan 3rd.

I was at POP from 5/17 to 5/23. Used a room only discount. Not sure of the %age off, but they do offer a discount during May. Taken advantage for the past 3 yrs.

We went this past January 6-12 (on our first family trip) and got a good deal on a package for PORFQ. It was actually cheaper than the value package (since the AOA-LM was excluded). I loved how light the crowds were at that time (value) and got spoiled as we had 1 day of cold damp weather and the rest of the week was in the high 70s/low 80s. Which was a rarity I'm certain!

For 2014 we are looking at early May since January no longer fits into our vacation schedule. Right now seeing AAA RO discount which saves me $130 (6 nights) for CBR. Any discount is better than no discount!
