New discounts on Disney's site!!! It's a tiered discount depending on the resort category. We saved 30% off a moderate for our November trip. There are a few blackout dates but it looks like it's only American Thanksgiving and Christmas so those who didn't qualify for the fall free dining should be able to take advantage of this discount!

Yup. I snagged a 25% discount (CM9) for our room-only reservation for Food and Wine. We saved about $100 compared to our CAA / AAA discount.

MouseSavers.com sent me an alert.

Here's the link to new room-only deals announced this morning.

I am new to all this discount information. I currently have reservations in October for a moderate resort. I booked through CAA and have the Magic your way with dining along with our room. Would I be eligible for the room only discount?

I'm not sure how it works with a travel agent. Our reservation was through the Disney website. We were able to call in and apply the discount to the room portion of our package.

Call your travel agent, if they haven't called you already. A good travel agent will try to find and offer the best discounts they have. Since you mentioned dining, it's likely that you have a Disney package rather than a room-only reservation. There are other discounts related to packages if you stay 5 nights ($200 for value, $300 for moderate, $500 for deluxe or deluxe villa). However, I have no idea if this would be a better deal than what you already have. If CAA booked your package through Disney, you can make changes, and your package is fully refundable up to 45 days in advance. If CAA sold you a pre-packaged deal from a third party travel aggregator, you may have different rules about modifications and cancellation.

FYI, I asked for a comparison between using the room-only discount and the package with gift-card discount, and it wasn't even close. To get the package discount, we would have to pay rack rates (I was quoted $185/night) to get the $200 gift card at Pop. Using the seasonal rate calendar plus the 25% off discount code, we're spending about $85/night on our rooms.

Yes. I just changed my POR package with dining, to add the room discount.
You would have to phone your CAA agent and ask them to add it to your res. asap. These discounts sell out. They only have a certain # of rooms with discounts. It's like a sale. When they sell out, that's it.
Don't know which resort your staying at, but if you find the discounts gone for your resort, you may have to be flexible and switch to another if you want the discount.

I'm not saying CAA travel is bad, but if you had booked with a Disney specialized TA, they would have been on the phone the morning the discount came out to get it for you, and automatically applied it to your res.
Most of the time I book myself, but when I do use a TA, it's a Disney specialized one.

I spoke to my agent today and she thought that because we have a CAA package we wouldn't qualify. She was going to check into the gift card offer and let me know. This is our first trip to Disney, but the lesson is learned I won't use CAA again to book our vacation. Thanks for all the responses and advise.

Did you ask if TA booked directly with Disney? Hope you can get the discount.
You can use the room discount in a package. Hopefully they can get this for you.

Does anyone know the reasoning behind why they have Animal Kingdom Lodge with the 25% Values? Doesn't make sense considering they are the same price as Wilderness Lodge, and that is under the Deluxe at 40%. :confused3
