Anyone else still hoping for a GP RO discount?

Yeah . . . we're in that waiting zone, too. I have reservations at the WL with a AAA discount, but need to have more than a 10% discount to keep the reservation! I just can't pay almost $300 after discount when I can pay about 60% of that at the Hilton Bonnet Creek. Fingers crossed for a pin or GP discount!

I currently have a rack rate package booked at CSR. I'd like a discount, as that would give us more spending money. But I will keep it even if there are no discounts. Tried to convince my DH about Whyndam Bonnet Creek, but he didn't want to stay in those big huge buildings.

We're looking into staying at a DTD hotel or off property. Right now I'm booked at Pop Century, rack rate (preferred room), but we really need a discount to warrant staying on-site.

Is anyone thinking about buying an Annual Pass to get the 30 or 40% off room-only discount? I would only buy one for me, the lead on our reservation of three rooms.

Our 45 days out is August 31 and I just don't know if we can wait that long. This is killing me already being such a planner at heart.

I was SURE the room-only discount was going to come out on the 16th - now we are supposed to wait "a couple weeks"?

Yes, I am also waiting with baited breath. I would go with the AP route (would be an additional $82.00 over the straight RO deal for the total costs) but only Poly has currently released inventory for December. I have a FD reservation but going with RO would be a savings of $800+ as I want to arrive on a full rack rate Saturday prior to the FD dates.

Waiting and Waiting - I am the "go to" person for all the questions about planning WDW vacations among all our friends. Our travel dates are Oct 14 - 21 and they cannot change. I have helped 9 different families plan their vacation and every one of them have gotten free dining due to their travel dates !!! Even the spring breakers traveling during peak season are getting FD. Everyone around me is getting post cards in the mail with pin codes. Just had a co-worker show me her post card this morning that she got in the mail yesterday and said "is this what you were talking about???" She didn't need it - she had FD already. DSister who will be down week of Columbus Day saved over $1000 on her reservation. I can't beg, borrow or steal any kind of discount for the 3 rooms I have booked for 10 people !!!

Ya same here changing dates isn't an option for us we're going day after you........ not looking good is it. I hear ya on everyone getting postcards but you my parents even got one the other day they haven't been to Disney ever still not sure how they even got one tis a mystery. Too much info sometimes isn't a good thing that's clear in this case, wish I had never heard of dang pins and discounts now !

I didn't think you could get 3 rooms with 1 annual pass.

before you shell out 500.00 for that pass....call and make sure there is an AP discount room available. Its slim pickins for October at this point

If I wanted to upgrade them all to annual passes... will that screw up my dining? I know I would have to kill the MYW package and go room only... but can I keep dining?

Or should I use the MYW tickets and spend some time at City Hall after extinguishing all of my credits to upgrade to APs?

We're only going for 4 days and our next trip isn't until Dec 2012. So no AP for us. Though I'm seriously considering and TIW for our next trip.

Pretty sure you could upgrade after you enter the parks with them. Not completely sure though.

I was thinking about getting an AP for the discount. I called and asked about rooms and they didn't have anything for my timeframe at a resort I wanted. The CM did say to keep calling about room availability. So, if something opens up, I'll get an AP.

Nope - you can definitely upgrade your package tickets to APs on the first day in the park. They'll pro-rate what you owe for the difference between what you paid and APs. You just need everyones (adults anyways) IDs, and probably better if they are all present.

Should I just get it through my thick skull that there are no room-only discounts coming for October? Right now our trip is scheduled for October 19-30. The first few nights are room-only and then free dining kicks in on the 23rd. Our 45-day mark is Labor Day weekend. I am about to the point of cancelling the first part of the trip. Without a RO discount, we will not be going until the 23rd. AUGH!

I think Disney is bitter about those of us doing a room only for a night or two just prior to our free dining packages. They already are laying the groundwork to not give us our package tickets a day or 2 early. So now I have this vision of them holding out on our room only discounts to further extract their revenge............
