Leaving for the airport in a few hours to go to Barcelona for the Disney Magic cruise. Checked our mail for the last time and there was a PIN!!!! OMG. So took a quick break from packing and went straight online and booked BC CL Deluxe room 12/16-12/22 at 35% off! Not as good as last year's 40% off for general public room only discount, but I'll take it. And so glad that I could book before I go out of town for 10 days.

Sounds like a lot of us are getting some good pixie dust. Hope it gets spread around to all who is in need!

We hope to go early November, but we can't book without a discount, and we NEVER get pins. We got one for 15% of deluxes one time, but that was just pitiful. What irritates me is that my boss, who has only gone to Disney once for the marathon, got a pin yesterday for 35% deluxes and 25% off values and moderates. Come on Disney, work with me here!

Also- does anyone know if the GP just has the option of rooms pin-holders have not already booked? Or does Disney release a new batch of rooms for the GP room-only discount?

Phones open at 7am. Typically the website is updated between 5 and 6am but that can vary.

They do not hold rooms for discounts. Basically discounts work on a percentage of bookings for resort/room type. If the number of bookings is above the line, no discounts are available. If someone cancels and it drops below the line the discount may become available again. So if there's little or no availability in a resort/room type now (due to bookings for rack rate, FD, PINs, AP discount, etc.) then there won't be GP discount availability.

That's why we're flexible this time -- we'll take the discount wherever it's available, below a certain price. If you're set on a particular resort/room type then it pays to check back even if it's not available when you first call. Also, i've seen a number of posts recently where things are showing up available online before they show up in the CMs system.

I did notice that for our dates at least one BC standard room came available today and it was all Garden views for the last month. There are cancellations all the time so keep checking.

I am confused by this, though, since garden view rack rate rooms are available online. Does this just mean that the GF is already "above the line" for bookings? How do I book online using the pin rate? I don't see anywhere to input that info when I search for resort availability...

I receive PINS in my mother-in-laws name all the time, which Disney cruelly won't let me use without bringing her. We got one for 9/18-11/18 & 11/26-12/22. 25 % off Values and Moderates, 35 % off Deluxes. I think we'll see this go public very shortly, though!
