Room only discount code club

In the past, have GP offers been as good as AP's ? I can't seem to remember.

I did book a reservation with free dining at CSR because it saves us something, but I'd rather skip a TS meal or two and stay at WL instead IF we can get 40% off.

I finally feel like I've gotten a good value for my money....

That's the feeling I want, and I just don't have it this year :sad1: We're going to have to leave a day early (since 10/2) is blacked out, or stay offsite, and even the AP discount for the first 4 nights of our trip was only about 25%. I got 40% last year in August - I was sure Sept/Oct would be slower and at least as good a deal :headache:

We'll still have fun, but I'm a little bummed....

Do room only discounts have a minimum night requirement historically? We are planning on staying 2 nights after our cruise in October and am wondering if our stay will be too short to qualify for a room only discount (crossing our fingers that one will be available!!)

No, I've never seen a minimum # of nights required on the room only - good luck!!

Oh, forgot to post the AP rates:

Disney Deluxe Villa Resort Hotels 40%

Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels 40%

Disney Moderate Resort Hotels 30%

Disney Value Resort Hotels 30%

Isn't 30% high for a value? That bodes well for GP discounts.

I am in the blackout date of Oct 15-22, booked and paid for airfare AGES ago, got MNSSHP tickets purchased, ADR's all done one of which is the halloween party day with BBB booked and the princess dinner, I just can't see going through ALL that to change a trip to get FD, I will admit I played around this morning and looked into it though. I had my heart set on CSR and this would mean switching over to POFQ which is fine, but ya...... so my question is this, since after this craziness with FD and everyone booking now IF a room discount comes out how would there be any room left ? It means you cannot apply something to an exsisting ressie right? So you'd have to start from scratch or no? I'm new, this is my families first trip, and ya, just wondering all that jazz.

Believe it or not the number of DISers booking this morning is still only a drop in the bucket. Some hotels are already booked for certain weeks. Not much you can do there. But GP codes will come and there will still be rooms left, probably by the 16th.

I found this mornings chaos interesting to watch, but I'm still not the slightest bit worried. Especially now that the AP discounts are out. GP will follow.

Do you have to buy the annual pass when you book or just before the check in. Thanks for your help!!!!

You can book the AP rate without having the AP. You have to present it at check-in or most say within the first day if you are upgrading/purchasing when you arrive.

I called on Sunday night to get some price quotes. I had a pin showing that was not "active". Since the free dining was released today I thought I would give it a shot and call back. It was active and I got 25% off at value for October 12 - 17. :yay:

Thank you for posting that the AP rates were released this morning! With the fd blowing up the DIS and Disney World website I might have missed it. I got the dates I need in Oct and Nov at POP. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Count me in. I have two ressies - Nov. 25-27 and Dec. 1-4 that I would love a discount for.:thumbsup2

Waiting for a room only discount for October 2012! I may end up renting points, but I wouldn't mind getting a room only discount. :)

Oh how I'm hoping you're right! I just wish there was someone with some concrete rumor info.

Another thought - I'm seeing a lot of posts from The FD thread and APs that are holding multiple reservations. So if you're not seeing the availability you want, wait a few days for the furor to die down. I'm sure there will be a number of "cancellations" this week.

Personally, I haven't booked a resort at all, just the air. If we can get an Epcot resort at 40% then we'll do it. If not we'll stay Value or Mod. Either way, we're going to Disney World! :woohoo:

I'm thinkin' the same thing. I want to book BWI for October 2012 for the F&W Festival and a 40% off PIN would be perfect. I got one for my May trip so it helped cut down the cost since my gramma was paying and would only stay Deluxe (CL at CR was only available with the PIN ) so I'm hoping I will get one for next year, but I am willing to stay at a value, especially since DBF doesn't want to spend a lot of money on this trip. 35% off the values and mods would be great as well if I do go with a value. Either way, I'm taking him to WDW. He has never been and I'm just dying to take him.

I'm probably going to end up renting points since it comes out to be about $85 more (that's with tickets as well) to stay at BWV than ASSports (without the pin. $300 cheaper than BWV with the 35% off PIN) and it's about $548 cheaper to stay at BWV than BWI with a 40% discount. That's if I go through David's Vacation Club Rentals. It would be cheaper if I rent through someone who is selling for $10 or $11 per point, but I feel more comfortable going through David's VCR.

Now I have to decide, do I want to risk waiting and miss out on BWV if I don't get a PIN or do I just want to go ahead and rent points as soon as I can so I am guaranteed BWV?

I would LOVE a room only. We are going in January, and I cannot believe that I have to pay a rack rate for my Poly Theme Park view room! We NEVER book dining packages... I did FD to have something, but it is not really a savings to us. SO bummed.

Lillian Gracey, did you check DVC availability in Oct? We considered renting points too and our dates had no availability.
