I just got off the phone with my travel agent. I have a 9 night Car's suite at AoA booked for early January for 5 adults. My rate dropped by $542.15! So, it's a savings of $108.43 per person. I'm happy pixiedust:

I asked about the "stay, play, and dine, but my rate was going to be $6610 and change. Yikes!!

Just wanted to share the discount info with those wanting to know how it's going to work out. OH, and my agent said Disney wouldn't even give him a quote for us until he had my Disney card number! He said they used to just give quotes, and didn't need to card # until they booked it actually, but this time he needed it to even get the quote. :)

Staying at AOA March 1-7, waiting for Thursday discount
First time visit
2 Nemo Suites
9 adults
Do I go for RO or S/P/D for counter service

I would personally go for the room only discount. I did the math, and the QS dining (using S/P/D) was going to cost an additional $442 per person, for 9 nights. That's $49.11 per day, and if you get a snack for around $5, then that means if I don't spend at least $22 for each remaining meal, I didn't get a good deal! I don't generally spend that much for each meal there. I can do better on my own. I was SO hoping for free dining. I LOVE that, but paying for dining plan isn't cost effective for me and my group.

Not trying to debate anything, but this is completely untrue. I called today to get a quote and was given 3 different quotes and the CM put a courtesy hold on my room so I could talk to my husband. He never once asked for my card number. He said the room would be held until the 14th and I had until then to call and give them my card number.

Uh, I am stating exactly what happened, and it's the 100% truth. This is what happened. Just because you had a nice Disney rep do that for you, that is not what happened to ME. Unless my agent is lying, but I see no benefit for him to lie to me, so... I'm glad you had better luck.

This happened to is as well! I had to wait to get the card from my husband!

If I'm reading this correctly, the OP was using an independent travel agent, and the other person called Disney directly. I'm not sure why the TA would have this policy, but regardless, it's just two different experiences. I don't think anyone's purposely trying to spread false info!! :thumbsup2
