If room only codes are released, you'll still probably be better off using the FT package. You're already getting 43% off room
AND passes. Code rates are usually around 30% - 40% off, and they you have to pay full price for passes. Even if you decide to drop a couple of days to get a hopper, you're still better off with the FT. Last year codes for 8/25 - 10/2 came out of 5/25 and codes for 10/3 - 12/25 came out 7/22. I wouldn't expect to see any codes for the fall to begin until after this FT package expires which is 6/29/03. Also, since they haven't released room-only codes for the summer yet, they'd probably come out first, but most people don't think that's going to happen. Which means any room-only codes for Sept - Oct won't happen either since they were already covered under the FT package. I had a talk with a CM about the FT package and his feelings were that this was going to be the only public discount Disney was going to offer for this time period. With the amount of bookings they're getting, it looks like it was a GREAT idea from a marketing standpoint. They told me that they are trying to target the either very infrequent visitor or the new visitors to WDW. They want to tap into that market and get some of them hooked. Disney does the majority of their business on repeat visitors, not the one in a lifetime vacation. This is why they're trying to get new visitors, get more people returning. The people (like myself) who go at least once a year, will continue to go regardless of prices.
