PamDC, we are in a situation like you. We need a room only code, because we are AP holders and have been for several years. We go to WDW 2 to 4 times a year, staying on property, for at least 7 nights per trip. So far, the AP people, have been playing second fiddle, to the people that go to WDW once in a lifetime or once every 2 or 3 years. We know four families, that went to WDW, for the first time last year. They enjoyed the trip, but none plan on going back in the near future. I phoned them about the FTP and they weren't interested. I know WDW needs new customers and FTP is a good way to get them, I'm truly happy for the people that it helps and some will become regulars at WDW, but most, probably won't.
I received my MBA several years ago, but I don't think marketing has changed that much. A business makes sure they keep their regular customers, because it's harder to replace that person. The bird in the hand story. I have a feeling WDW will come through with room only discounts for us loyal guests.
With the discounted hotel rooms and cheap airline fares, I think it is going to be hard, for many of us, to pay rack hotel rates again and full price for air.
We have AP's, DC, Disney VISA and are Indiana residents.
