Room only cancellation

Hi, does anyone know if the current policy is that you can cancel anytime before check in and still get your deposit back? I looked at the website and it says this, but I just want to make sure they are talking about the deposit. Has anyone else cancelled room only very close to check in (less than 5 days) and gotten their deposit back?

To provide additional flexibility, we are waiving Disney-imposed change and cancellation fees up to the date of check-in for reservations with arrivals through April 30, 2021.

Since reopening in July you can cancel as late as day of check-in and get your deposit or even full payment if you chose to pre-pay for your room only reservation.

But as a favor to others that might be trying to get a last minute reservation so if you actually don't plan to arrive and can cancel before the day of check-in it would be helpful.

And yes the new policy is valid until April 30, 2021 at this time. Disney does not want you to travel to Disney World if you are sick.

It helps Disney and other guests.

Yes I just had to cancel ours 4 days before and got our deposit back on our credit card.
We had a split stay one resort with room only and one with the discount deal with tickets and resort package. We got all our money back on both.
