I booked a 6 night room only at the Poly for October. My husband just got his work schedule and he did not get all the days off that we needed. The policy for cancellation, I believe is one night's stay which is about $330/nt. Does anyone know if there is any incentive to cancel now, or just wait and cancel in October and hope something changes.

With a room only res, I think you have until 6 days before your stay to cancel without penalty. You should get your deposit back.

This was copied from the bottom of my room only ressie:

CANCELLATION POLICY: In order to receive a refund of your deposit, including credit card deposit transactions, notification of cancellation must be received 5 days prior to your arrival date. To cancel a reservation, call (407)-W-DISNEY(934-7639). Additionally, if you are holding any other reservations, they will not be cancelled unless you advise us. The cancellation and refund policy are subject to change.

If you think there might be a change, no hurt in waiting, except losing interest in your savings account, so that would be your decisoin :goodvibes

I really appreciate the quick response! I guess you are right on waiting-who knows what could happen by October! Thanks again!

Just don't cancel the trip in your mind and not forget to cancel the room. ;) We have two ressies booked for the same night in Sept -- one at AKL and one at Universal -- and we're waiting until later to decide which to keep. I don't want to make the decision on where we're staying now, but I'm also afraid I'll forget to cancel the other one! oh dear.

I have a vacay folder, and print out all my reservations, air, hotels, car rental, so I don't forget to cancel something if necessary.

Hope your husband can somehow get the time off.
