We are looking at staying at POR the last week of October for 5-6 nights prior to our very first Disney cruise!! I am trying to decide between a Sat. and Sun. arrival date.
My question is : if we book a room only rsv starting Sat (for 6 nights), would there be any problems modifying it to a 5-nt (taking off the Sat and starting Sun) later based on airfares and changing our mind? I know adding nights could possibly be a problem if there was no availability, but is it easy to remove a day and keep the same rsv? Or should we wait to book the room until we're certain about which arrival day we want?
We're getting a bit of sticker shock adding up all the pieces now - cruise, air, hotel, food, ... Cutting the Sat. saves not only an extra day of hotel and food, but also the Sat upcharge for the hotel, plus at the moment about $100 of airfare.
At first we saw rumors of the possibility of free dining that got us excited, but then saw that POR has been excluded from that deal recently. I hope the crowds won't be worse than I'm expecting if they do end up offering free dining for that last week of Oct.
