We are doing our extended family trip. We are staying at BLT. We have a 2BR and Studio. When we do trips like this we often end up with people speding time in each other rooms. For example, our youngest needs a nap and grandma needs a break from the heat...the 2 of them go back and Grandma takes my daughter back to our room. My daughter sleeps while Grandma relaxes and reads or watches a movie in our room.

So I'm hoping that our keys can be setup with access to multiple rooms. Anyone know if this is possible?

I'm not sure about one key working on multiple rooms, but you could probably get some extra keys.

I agree with this - I have never heard of one key that works multiple separate rooms (only 2 BRs with multiple doors to the hallway, which is really considered one room). But the occupants of the room can ask for extra keys for that room at the desk and give them to whoever needs them.

The resort would likely provide additional keys for each villa, but not have multiple villas coded with the same access on each key.

Regardless, it can't hurt to ask when you arrive at the resort.

Good luck! :)

I know they used to be able to do this though I'm not sure all CM's were aware of it. I haven't heard of an instance in several years though. It doesn't hurt to ask but I don't think MS will be able to answer the question. If not, they CAN give you extra keys to the other rooms and that's true even if you have the DDP.

One time friends & I had 2 rooms at POFQ. We asked for connecting but they did not have them. So they keyed all our cards for both rooms.

The answer to us at Boardwalk in March of this year was NO. One guest, one key. period. We were in a similar situation over spring break - we had a two bedroom with a studio at the other end of the hall. The front desk said that it was one key per guest, linked to the room they were in. It didn't matter if you had charging privileges or not. Their only solution for us was for us to temporarily swap key to the world cards within our parties in order to access a room we were not staying in. Inconvenient, but that's what we had to do.
