Room key card question

madalex, I'm sorry if I offended you. (Well, not really. ;) )

In my original post, I said I talked to her about the "obvious", meaning "I wouldn't do it if I were you."
This is a casual neighbor who knows I'm a disney fan and asked me a question. I didn't want to preach to her or even tell her that I won't answer her.

1) You didn't mention this in your original post.

2) If you wouldn't do it, and think it's "obvious" that anyone would mention that, why did you tell her? And, most especially, why would you try to find out the answer for her here?

I must say, I'm so impressed at all the people who refuse to bend the rules so Disney can be treated fairly. Imagine, living your whole life and never bending the truth just a wee bit to save yourself some hard earned money. Impressive. Most impressive.

1) You're missing the point. For most people- myself included- it's not about treating Disney "fairly". It's about treating all the guests the same, and keeping park costs the same for everyone. You wouldn't jump over a fence and sneak into WDW without buying a ticket, would you? This is NO DIFFERENT.

2) Yes, I do whatever I can to save some of my "hard earned money". And it bothers me when people steal from Disney, because that only means that costs go UP for ME. Which leaves me less of my hard earned money. When people steal from Disney, they're not just stealing from a big company- that big company passes the costs off to everyone else. You're stealing from ME.

Well at least someone finally recognizes that honor and morals are impressive, thanks for the compliment. :thumbsup2

You're very welcome! :thumbsup2 Because it was meant as a compliment. And I admit, after reading my post again today, it did sound ugly. Sorry for those I offended; it was not meant to come off that way. I really do commend those that will not bend the truth to save a few bucks....I do hope it pertains to every aspect in one's life...as it should. ;)

You know it takes person with a lot of dignity to come back and post this, therefore I commend you. :thumbsup2

With me it's just the way I was raised, I would not be comfortable being any other way and I love a bargain as much as anyone, but I won't save money by taking it from someone else regardless of who it is or how big a company they are. I figure in the long run I would lose a whole lot more than the $25 dollars I saved.

Not on this thread particularly, but it always amazes me that people will justify these actions by stating Disney can afford it. I have a friend who is a fraud investigator and she said the first thing someone does when involved in any kind of fraud is to justify it. :sad2:

Hope you have a fun weekend. :)

Oh for goodness sakes, KJ Hawley -

Aisling asked in her OP about whether room cards were distinguishable for kids vs. adults. The DIS members know more than CM's on the phone half the time!

She came to her source for the best info to support her statement to her acquaintance that it was NOT okay to do. She wanted to let this woman know that they WOULD check, and she WOULD get nabbed. This is clear from Aisling's subsequent posts. She was simply seeking backup - not info on how to cheat!

Little snarky to suggest that folks asking simply clarification is someone looking to support subversive activities.

I'd be the first(or 100th) to point out the "getting over" on Disney that goes on, and I have often NOT agreed with Aisling - but in this case, some of these comments were downright mean.

You know what, I don't need to explain myself to you or to anyone. I asked a question, if you don't have an answer MOVE ON.

Exactly!

I cringe when I think she may get caught!

Now for a nice stiff drink! I can't believe how I let these boards get to me!

Anyway, have fun accusing me of anything you want, I have some ADRs to make! ;)

I'd like to accuse you of making me need a stiff drink too....shall we meet at the adult beach on CC, I think those BBC's were my favorite, not that the ones at dinner weren't as good, I just had those pesky children about me during that time....

hee heee heee....

What's the new scene jelly bean?
