Is there anything on the key card that distinguishes between a child and an adult?

I think they put different characters on them. Mickey and Minnie are for adults and something like Goofy and Donald are kids...I think.

Nope, other than the person's name and Child or Adult on the back side of the room ID. All the room IDs look the same on the picture side.

The children's card says "Child" on it and the adult card says "Adult" on it. Other than that, they look the same.

Thank you,
This is what I needed to know, that the card does say child or adult. I don't remember from my previous trips, and I didn't feel like digging out our old room key cards to check.

My neighbor is about to book a deluxe room at AKL for November, and put the age of her 19 year old as 17, to avoid the $25 a night extra adult charge. Their other 2 kids are 12 and 13.

I may be a mug-sharer, but I have no experience with this sort of thing, so (besides the obvious), I didn't know what to tell her when she asked if I thought she'd have any problem with doing this.

The only thing I could think of was the key card. Thanks for the replies.

They should say child on the card but the past couple of trips all of our keys have had adult written on the kids cards.

I am looking at my daughter's from this past February and if does say "child" and "not valid for charging".

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Not to start a flame war on this- but it may anyway-

However, you could have mentioned that you were intending to cheat Disney, and wanted help with it, before posting your question. Some people may have been offended if they had unknowingly "helped" you with this.

OP did indicate it was her neighbor NOT her. Perhaps you could climb off the high horse.

Well, you could have declined to answer the question in light of her stated desire to cheat Disney.

madalex, I'm sorry if I offended you. (Well, not really. ;) )

In my original post, I said I talked to her about the "obvious", meaning "I wouldn't do it if I were you."
This is a casual neighbor who knows I'm a disney fan and asked me a question. I didn't want to preach to her or even tell her that I won't answer her. I did give her the link to the Dis, so hopefully she'll be reading these boards. It'll be her family's first time to WDW.

I sincerely apologize to who responded. (well, almost all.) I didn't intend for anyone to "help me cheat" Disney. This woman asked me about it and I told her I didn't remember what was on the card. I don't even know if I'm going to be speaking to her again before my own trip next month. I see her when she walks her dog past my house. If she sees this thread, it'll be funny of she recognizes the situation and says something to me about it! I hope not!

(By the way, madalex, I have two rooms booked, for the 8 people in my group, 2 adults and 2 children in each room, in case this makes you feel better.)

Don't the cards say ADULT for anyone over 10? I don't have my sons handy, but other than the extra $$ for the room, my 11-yr-old was an adult for park ticket, dining, etc.

Just wondering.....but if that's the case, wouldn't the 12, 13 and 19 yr olds cards say ADULT??? I didn't really look at Tom's other than to make sure it said "Not valid for charging" :lmao:

This is absolutely correct. Anyone over the age of 9 (9 to 17 is considered a "junior" at the resorts) will have a Key to the World card that says "Adult." This is, like 2Princes2Princesses said, for park ticket, dining plan (if applicable) purposes. Anyone 3-9 will have a card that says "Child."

Our room keys have always had our names on hem and said whether it was a child or adult. DS is 12 and his is an adult for tix but will say not valid for charging

I just checked my cards from last October and my 13 year olds says adult. :thumbsup2 I can't believe I still have them; guess I'm holding on to fond memories ;)

I must say, I'm so impressed at all the people who refuse to bend the rules so Disney can be treated fairly. Imagine, living your whole life and never bending the truth just a wee bit to save yourself some hard earned money. Impressive. Most impressive.

So, where do you stop before you no longer bend the truth?
