Room for cash

I called member services today to see about adding the night of 8/22 to our points reservation as a cash night. I was told that there were not only no 1 bedroom units available for cash with our DVC doscount that night but that there were no 1 bedroom units available at all for full price that night. Has anyone else had this experience? Should I bother to keep calling?

yes - after 60 days all the unused DVC rooms go to CRO - so I definitely try 60 days before you leave.

We have never had a problem getting a cash room several months out.

Try calling CRO. They may not have any discounted rooms either, but since the cash inventory is separate from the points (or member) inventory, CRO may have rooms at full price even though MS does not. Then you will at least have a room for the night you need.

Member discounted rooms (for cash) come out of member inventory and also out of developer inventory, but MS only offers members a room for cash if it doesn't think it will be needed for a points ressie. As others have suggested, you can try MS again once you get within 60 days of arrival.

We are staying at BCV. I had no problem changing my ressie from my home VWL at 7 Mo. but we didn't aniticipate staying an extra day or two.

I just got a 25% member discount for May 9 & 10, 1 bedroom at OKW. $289 plus tax. I'm hoping to get a better discount when (if) the AP rates come out.
