On today’s Universal Edition podcast Ryno expressed his disappointment in the theming of the Jurassic Park room at the Royal Pacific Resort. When I hear such things I can’t help but think about what could be done to make it better. So here’s my pitch for improvements for the Jurassic Park suite.

Adult Side: As Ryno said this should include the Jurassic Park theming but to a subtler level than the kids side. So my concept builds on the customer facing side of Jurassic Park. What would a resort room in Jurassic Park look like? Maybe some wall sconces that are shaped like the skull of triceratops or some other subtle bone motif. On the tv stand/dresser maybe have the paneling bare the Jurassic Park icon (the circle with the tyrannosaurus bones in profile) cut out of wood. The bedside table lamp could be a fake stone with fossils or amber imbedded in it. Then finally there could be one or two picture that are beautiful vistas or landscapes but upon closer look you notice dinosaurs; as if they were pictures taken at the park.

Kids Side: To mirror the adult side being based on the customer side of Jurassic Park, the kids side would be the behind the scenes/employee’s side of the park. Starting with the bed, keep the solid metal headboards but put a wall sticker between the bed to create the image of a single raptor transport cage. Then on the solid metal above the beds have claw marks that the light would shine through instead of the odd angled bars. To connect them all at the top have a sign saying “Caution: Dangerous Animals”. Embedded on the top of the dresser and desk, as well as the pictures on the wall, could be blueprints or maps of different parts of the park. To top it all off there could be a channel on the tv showing the different pens and areas of the park. The walls would also have to be repainted.

That’s my pitch, thoughts? Tone it up? tone it down? What do you think about the current room and what do you think could be improved in it?

Edit: Okay this idea is stuck in my head now
