Room discounts October

I wouldn't get a AAA card just for disney savings. Room rate savings are only 10 to 20%. Theme park ticket savings are only around 5%. Price for the card and perks varies on where you live (there are different branches of AAA based on your state/city). Check out the AAA website (enter your zip for your specific branch) or stop by your local office for more info.

For us, we have AAA in case there is an issue with our cars and the discounts are just a bonus.

Thank you so much! Im headed to the site to check it out!! :thumbsup2

What I don't understand is why don't they do free dinning with AP's. We spend more on an AP than we would on tickets. I understand part of the resoning, it wouldn't make sense to let AP holders get free dinning on multiple trips. If this was your first trip on your AP they should let us have the free dinning. The only thing I can hope for is a discount for AP holders. Hopefully it will be at the resort I have reservations for, the dates I have reservations for, and the room I have a reservation for. It's just not fair.

What's not fair about it? At any given time Disney will be offering several discounts, but they have never allowed stacking of discounts. You just choose the discount that works best for you. As AP holders we have the choice of a room discount and paying for the DDP or pay rack rate for the room, buy two day park tickets (that we can then use at a later date), and get free dining. The GP could argue that it's not fair that we as AP holders can buy the DDP without having to buy park tickets from Disney, like they have to (alot of people can get free or discounted WDW tickets somewhere else, but to get the DDP, still have to buy tickets through WDW). In the past in order to get free dining, all we had to do was buy one day park tickets and that wasn't bad. Since they will let you upgrade only one of those one day park tickets to an AP each year, I have several of those one day park tickets still left over, from times I was able to do free dining more than once a year.

As an AP holder I go to WDW several times a year. If they allowed AP holders to only get free dining once a year, when people like me go several times a year during the free dining time, you'd have some upset AP holders. I was down there last Sept and Dec during free dining and will also be down there this Sept and Oct during free dining.

Some sort of can get FD with their first AP. They just have to wait to buy it when FD comes out. Then buy the required tickets and upgrade them to AP's when they get to the parks.

Or buy the 2 day tickets even though you have an AP, then put them aside to upgrade the next time you renew.

Really though, they don't offer discounts as a "bonus" to good customers. They do it as an enticement to get people who weren't going to go to Disney to schedule trips. I'm sure if they thought they could get away with not applying discounts to previously booked packages, they totally would. But it would create such a negative response, they just can't.

For a while last year they were sending out PIN codes that required you book a non-refundable trip. I'm betting that went over like a lead balloon.

Exactly when is fall break and for who? In particular, I am wondering if there is anything from the 13th to the 18th since that is blacked out.

It varies all across the country, even by school district. But Columbus Day weekend itself remains consistently busy.
