Hi Everyone,

New to the forum and have learned so much info on here! Thank you everyone!

We are having our wedding at WDW in 10/09. Are there any other Disney Brides out there having the wedding that month? I am curious to see what the quoted room rates were. Mine seem really high and I'm afraid to announce these prices to my guests. We go down there many times a year and have never paid prices like this....is this normal????:confused3

Value Resorts is $105
Moderate is $165
AKL is $346

Our resorts including tax are:

Value (All Star Movies).....$87.01
Moderate (Cornado)........$148.50
Deluxe (Grand Floridian)...$315.00
Wilderness Cabins..........$268.88

My wedding is during the value season in Disney so that may be why they are lower. Also, I don't know if they increased the prices since I booked back in April. :confused3

Those prices seem right for that season. I just got married in October and my wedding rates were:

All Star Music: $100.57 - there was a better discount code that guests used and were able to get the rooms for $70

Caribbean Beach - $157.

Beach Club - $291.

Ours is a January wedding and we have fantastic rates:
GF - 315$
YC - 266$
POR - 148

Would your guests do better with AAA discount? I think if they can find a better rate somewhere or with a pin or something, you can still use their reservation number towards your minimum, ladies is this correct?

Thank goodness for this board and thread. You reminded me I should call and see what the rates are. I'm doing my wedding in December...so know they will be higher :guilty:

How much is the discount they offer your guests for the rooms?

We are also having an October 2009 wedding and your rates are very similar to what we were quoted when tax was included. The one difference is that we elected to get standard view rooms at Animal Kingdom instead of Savannah view, as we really wanted that resort, but Standard View brought the rates down from $308 a night plus tax to $278 a night tax included. Its a little difference, but every little bit helps, right?

Your guest dont HAVE to go through Disney Weddings for their room. If they have a travel agent, AAA or just a special that Disney is running like the current special they are having, they can do that. All you need is their reservation number to give to your planner and it will count toward your room nights.

For anyone with a wedding Jan - June make sure your guests know about the buy 4 get 3 nights free promo - some of them will stay longer for the same price and any that were already staying the week might get a much better deal. That deal almost makes me wish we'd waited another year to get married! :rotfl:

Those prices seem like rack rate to me. I just looked at mousesavers.com and the price you have for the value resort is rack rate. I thought they offer a 30% discount off rack rates? I am having my vow renewal 11/9/09 so that is considered regular season, like your Oct. wedding. I am really curious if those rates you have are with the discount. If so, our guests will do better with a code rate or AAA.

It's 30% off the deluxe resorts, a smaller percentage off of moderates (I think 15%), and a smaller percentage off the values (I think 10%).

Thanks so much for that info!

It's only 30% off at Deluxe resorts that have a conference center - the Poly and Animal Kingdom Lodge are only about 15% off I discovered.... :sad2:

The way Disney is responding to the economy, your guests may get a better deal through a special offer than through the wedding room block. Fortunately, it doesn't matter how they book their rooms - they all count! :goodvibes

From what I was told the value rate price was 10% off rack rate.
It's kind of embarrassing offering these rates to my guests. I had them take these rates off of my wedding web site as I don't want to turn guests away when they see these rates. My parents flipped out when they saw those prices.

I kind of want to send out my own save the date announcements and mention where guests can find discount codes instead of the actual "Disney save the dates". Has anyone actually done this in the past?

Desnik....my actual quoted price was $94/night and $105/night including taxes.

I just went on Mousesavers and saw the rack rate of $105. Is that including taxes? It also said AAA gets 10%-15% discount during regular season.
Maybe I'll be sending out AAA save the date announcements!

We just sent our room block to our planner for our july wedding

Contemporary 229
Movies 93

Not sure the others since we opted for these two.....i know the moderates were 146
