Room block and DVC

Do our guests DVC booked rooms count towards our minimum room number? They should! Just about everyone we are inviting is DVC and I'm sure will want to use their points to book.

I have talked to my wedding planner about this too. All you have to do is have your guests call disney and have them give their reservation number and they will count the rooms. They won't get any discount on room cost in points buut it will help you reach the 25 room night and obtain your free wedding night stay.

Good to know! I'm sure they won't care about the discount but most people we know vacation on points alone. I just didn't want to be stuck paying for a block of rooms. I don't really care about the free night for us as we will use our points as well.

One qualifier though...my wedding consultant said that the grand villa only counts as one room! Just thought I would let you know that...not sure how it works for a 2 bedroom though

That grand villa should count for 10 rooms as many points as it takes!

I couldn't agree more - especially because I plan on renting it for two nights for my wedding for my parents, sister & nephew, and grandma! I have a 75 night minimum, so I could really use the bonus points

That is the bad part- it doesn't matter if it is a two bedroom suite, gran villa, etc.- it only counts as one night!!!! We used DVC points for our wedding and had a few two bedrooms and they only counted as one per night. If you get a large suite at another hotel the same "rule" applies! So aggrevating!
