room avalibel on-line but not on the phone

Has anyone been unable to get a room res on the phone when it was avalible on-line. I wanted to change the dates of my stay. On-line the room is avalible but when I call to get the room with the AAA rate the room is not avalible at AAA rate or regular rate. When I mention the room is avalible online CRO manages to find a room at regular rate much more expensive.

Should I keep trying, book the room and try to add the AAA rate over the phone after or just keep the res as is?

Just because there are rooms doesn't mean they are at AAA rates. There are only a certain number of rooms available at the AAA rate.

When a hotel is booking rooms if they have 100 rooms to book they might only offer 10 at the AAA rate and once those 10 rooms are booked they will only sell the rest at regular rate as an example.

So while the room might be available online at regular rate doesn't mean they will book or offer the AAA rate. Its all about maximizing Revenue for the Company rather then a savings for a guest. All hotels operate the same way.

Keep trying though never know when they might offer more rooms at a discount so its not far fetched that they would have more later.
