Room available - early check in

How early have you been able to check in and get a room?

We are staying at the Contemporary in October (17th-22nd) and want to make the most of our first day, however, I don't want to get there too early and have nowhere to go. I know it depends on the availability of rooms but I am just trying to get an idea of what our chances are so I can book the flights.

We've checked in at the Wilderness Lodge at 11:30 a.m. the last three years.
You can always check in and have them store your bags if your room is not ready so you can go straight to the parks.

Last December we checked in to CR at 730 am and our room was ready. Even the CM was surprised. Great 10th floor MK view room

Nowhere to go?!?!...Walt Disney World.
Check in, if your room isn't ready, let them store your bags and you hit the parks. They gave us a card with the WL's number on it when we checked in in Jan., so we could check back whenever we felt to see if the room was ready.

SO I MAYBE I CAN GET IN AT 12;00 , IF I GO TO THE PARK EARLY , DO I JUST CALL POLY AND SEE IF ROOM IS READY

Dh and I checked into AKL between 9:30 and 10 a.m. over Halloween weekend. Not expecting to have a room ready for us, we checked our bags when we exited our towncar. We felt a little silly collecting them within just 15 minutes or so.

Good luck getting in early at the Poly especially if it's a Friday! We were advised by Central reservations to check out of the WL early Friday morning and head over to the Poly since we were "onsite" already. Boy was that a mistake! We headed over there around 10:30, they laughed at us . WE were actually the LAST people given a room that afternoon, close to 4:30. Seemed that HOusekeeping had the urgent need to clean our carpets, and we had a 5:15 PS at Ohana and tix for the MNSSHP. Boy was it close. WE had planned to skip the park that morning since we didn't have AP's then and knew we could get in at 4 with the halloween tickets.

On another note, we checked out of the Hotel ROyal Plaza in DTD at 10:30 in the morning during spring break after hastily making a CR reservation (We hated the HRP and staying outside). Arrived at the CR expecting to store our bags and were shocked to find our room available then.

STAY AT PARK AND GO OVER AT 3'00 PM SOUND GOOD
