I don't doubt that they call everyday, but they will not be given the information... When you call they will tell you they are the front desk and they will answer your questions, but you are not actually talking to the front desk. All resort calls are filtered through the call center and only if you have a dire need to speak to the desk will they transfer you through to it. Also, room numbers are never issued prior to check in and the room being clean and ready for you to occupy it. Even when you arrive, if the room is not clean they will not issue you the room number until it is (this way people don't go to the room and hound the housekeeper...which has happened in the past). Even when rooms are pre-assigned (for whatever reason) they still can be moved around if something comes up between it being assigned and your actual arrival, so if the information was issued to you in advance and then the room had to be moved it would not be a pretty site when you arrive and have a different room than you were told. I am not trying to be rude (although re-reading it is sounds like it might be, I apologize if it comes off that way)... I have been a room assigner (back office operations) for about 5 years at 3 different hotels, so if I sound like I am coming off to snippy, I don't mean to be, I am just trying to explain how RA works...
