Just booked Cruise for June 2005 Category 10 room and was assigned 7003. Anyone familiar with this area?

Is this a bad location?

First time cruising and want it to be a great experience for family.

Hi. I noticed no one had answered you yet so.... I have never stayed on Deck 7 before but we will be on the Panama Canal Eastbound. BUT we did just get off the Magic and stayed forward in rooms 2018 and 2020. We LOVED the location. In a sense it is what you have on Deck 7 because it is all the way forward. We liked the fact that the hallways are a bit wider. We actually parked our stroller outside the door a few times. Also the forward elevators are less crowded. You are lucky that you will only have to go DOWN to get to the theatre/clubs etc. We walked UP constantly. Of course I guess you always have to go the other way eventually. :D

We have stayed in a Cat 10 before and it was great. Only difference is that we didn't have sunlight and my kids tended to sleep later. Although this time my husband got mad the first moring because I left the porthole curtains open at night thinking we would get pretty sun in the morning to help wake us. Well, we weren't prepare with the kids getting up before 6!! They usually get up about 8-9 so the next night he made me shut the curtain when we went to bed!!

Also being forward, is good for the theatre and the shops. You do have to walk aft to the pools but you will only have to go up 2 flights. This time I had a stroller with my youngest because we used it for his naps. That was a pain taking the elevator so much. But I think that is the reason I didn't gain any weight ---I walked from one end of the ship to the other constantly.

I think you will really like where you are. Have lots of fun and just enjoy everything! Debi

Hopefully I hadn't replied in the linked thread. We stayed in 7005 on our first cruise. It is an awesome location! You are directly under the bridge, so there is no noise overhead. It's also a dead end hallway so no hallway noise except ship's officers going to the door at the end which leads to the bridge. That gives you the side benefit of being able to say hi to the bigwigs on the ship!

You're two short stair climbs down from the spa area, and 3 easy sets up from the theater. You are on the opposite end of the ship from dining, but that wasn't a big deal for us. Easier to go sideways that up and down imo.

Have a great cruise!
