I know from reading several posts that when people are unhappy with their rooms for whatever reason, they have been able to call the front desk and have been moved no problem. I understand it may be a little inconvenient to move rooms, but in the long run it could be worth it. I would not want to be next to the elevator or the air conditioner compressor.
As for the kids, I expect to see them everywhere in Disney, the parks, resorts, restaurants, etc. After all, it's Disney!!! This upcoming trip is our first with our daughter and we are going to be very flexible and take it slow, very slow, to hopefully avoid meltdown, to add to the enjoyment of the WDW experience, for her sake and for our sanity!
I agree with lizzie 64 that a child can have a tantrum at any time and it has nothing to do with the parents or parenting style. If my daughter is unbearable, it's because she is tired not because we don't set limits so we put her in the carriage or take her home to nap. We don't force her to keep going. This seems to be the case alot of times at Disney. Kids are tired and hot, therefore, they need to rest. If not, this is where the tantrums and loud behavior comes from.
I do agree that kids shouldn't be allowed to run up and down hallways, especially in the early am hours when people are still sleeping just as I don't expect loud adults at 2 am returning from Pleasure Island going back to their rooms or lots of noise from pools after hours. Just my opinion.
