Glad you are here, Mesaboy!
I'm not quite sure if this is the distinction to which you refer or not, but they seem to be questions pertinent to this thread.
SCENARIO 1: DHS
FP+ 1 - 9:30 - ToT
FP+ 2 - 10:30 - Star Tours
FP+ 3 - 11:30 - GMR
If I have no intention of using the GMR one, can I cancel it upon entering the park, then visit a kiosk after riding ST and schedule a FP+ (call it rescheduling #3, or obtaining #4, that doesn't matter) for ToT if it is available? That is what threeboysmom above would like to do.
If this is possible, does it matter whether the one you want to repeat is a Tier 1 attraction?
SCENARIO 2: MK
FP+1 - 9:30 - 7DMT
FP+ 2 - 10:30 - Space
FP+ 3 - 11:30 - Buzz
I decide I don't want to ride Buzz, so I leave MK and hop to Epcot at 11:30. I arrive at 12:00. Can I get my fourth FP+ when I arrive? Or will the system not allow me to get one at a different park because I haven't used my first three? Do I have to actually cancel the Buzz? Do I have to wait until its window expires at 12:30?
I thought I completely understood the system, but these scenarios have me wondering!
This is all fascinating.
And to add another wrinkle, would it be possible to walk those ride reservations up as soon as you get off the first ride. Scenario 1: ride Tot. Move star tours to 9:30. Gmr to 10:30. Then after star tours move gmr up to 10:00. Then ride gmr. Ready to grab tower of terror again at 10:25.
