Okay, feeling like a total idiot here but my daughter was collecting autographs and got her book signed at 'Hollywood and Vine' by "Ronald Duck, #2". Who on earth is Ronald Duck?!
Did Donald sign the book or another character. If it was another character, depending on their personality, maybe it was intended to be a joke.. I may be crazy but as far as I know there is no Disney character named "Ronald Duck"
I think it says Donald Duck, the D and "R" are shaped exactly the same except for their starting and ending points (what you are reading as the legs of the R) but you have to remember those costumes are difficult to see out of especially when trying to do a signature.
Weird. While I think it might be Donald also, it looks nothing like Donald Duck's autograph. And, Donald has always written a #1, never a #2. OP, do you remember which characters were there? Maybe the PP was right and it was one of the other character playing around.
Agreed. In the 13 years we've gone Donald always puts a #1 under his name. My son always plays around and tells him that we think Chef Mickey's should be renamed Chef Donald's.....and Donald always jumps up and down and points to his handler to listen up. It's a running joke rivalry....on Donald's side only. He would NEVER own up to being a #2! lol
I just turned around to look at my photo mat with signatures on it and I have 2 Donald Duck signatures on it with a very distinctive D on his Donald and they both say #1, which is what I have on every signature with his name on it that I have collected over the years. And even though I know that the 2 Donald's were in different restaurants, the D's in both Donald Duck's are very, very similar, nothing like the one in the picture from the OP. I think a character is trying to pull the wool over on the OP
Hmm, I don't think that's Donald's signature! Just looked at all ours, spanning 2006-2015 and that looks NOTHING like any of them and I know ours can't all be from the same Donald lol! Plus I agree with pp's, no WAY would Donald admit to being #2! Weird......
Did the book get out of her (or your) sight at all? Is it possible that someone was playing a joke by signing it that way? It looks like a child or early teen's handwriting to me. That is quite the mystery!
Last trip we went to the little area in WS that they do training in and we got a clearly new Mickey, which was fun. His autograph was signed "Mocky Mouse", so they're probably buddies!
Don't know about the signature (I too think it may of been a joke from one of the other characters), but I do know that if you attempt to say Donald is anything but #1, he gets pretty mad . DH has been known to tease him a few times with that. It makes for a really fun character interaction.
Sorry, for the delay. I posted that while still on vacation because we were VERY curious. The book was never out of our sight and we watched him sign it as we were at a character meal. My daughter later was showing a handler her autograph book and he was just as puzzled as we are/were. Just for verification we did get her an actual Donald Duck signature. Here he is with book in hand. Looks like Donald to me.
So is that the Donald who wrote the questionable autograph, or the one you got her to make sure she had an "authentic" Donald autograph lol?
I'm glad the handler was puzzled, not because I like that you may have had some weirdo sign your daughter's book, just so I know I wasn't crazy when I read your photo as not really being his signature!
I love the picture of your daughter with all the characters BTW
