HI THERE. WE HAVE ALREADY BOOKED THE RADISSON AT THE PORT FOR FRIDAY NIGHT.JUST WONDERING IF I SHOULD SWITCH TO RON JONS(IT SOUNDS AMAZING,THE KIDS WOULD HAVE A BALL).WE ARE DOING KENNEDY SPACE CENTRE ON FRIDAY SO WE PROBABLY WON'T CHECK IN UNTIL AFTERNOON. HOW FAR ARE EACH OF THESE HOTELS FROM THE PORT?ANY SUGGESTIONS?

We flipped our reservation from the Radisson to the new Ron Jon resort for May. We loved the pictures of the new resort and the pool area. In addition, the rate for a one-bedroom was only $10 more then we were paying for a standard room at the Radisson, when using a code.

We will also have our own transportation and want to park at the port so the free shuttle at the Radisson was not a selling point for us.

We switched too. The shuttle isn't an issue for us as we are renting a car. We rented 3 studios using a code for $97 each, as opposed to the best rate Radisson could give us (holiday weekend) at $119. Still bigger than the regular Radisson rooms, and the pool looks awesome.
Check in isn't until 4PM anyhow, and I think the pool is open until 11--the slide until 10? I've seen it on here somewhere! If it saves you money do it, even if you don't spend a lot of time it will be more memorable.

Check in may be 4:00 pm, but we got in around 1:30 - 2:00 pm and no problem getting our room. That was earlier this month so perhaps you'll have the same luck..

We have done the Radisson twice and would love to try Ron Jon's for our next cruise. Looks like Radisson has some competition.

We just got back from the 3-14 Wonder and stayed at the Ron Jon 2 nights prior to sailing. We arrived about 1;30 Friday and were allowed to swim until our room was ready at 3:15. The kids had a blast at the pools and slide. However the slide and lazy river closed at 5 while we were there. Sat we went to Kennedy and returned too late for the kids to swim! The Magic was late leaving on the the 13th so we took sandwiches down to the point and had a blast watching it sail out! They enjoyed walking around the resort later that night! Also, was making a bathroom break early Sat. (5-6 am) and happened to look out our window and saw the Magic arriving in the dark! We got a the $97 rate for a studio so felt like we got our monies worth! I will say it is still getting started and working out the kinks - not by any means the kind of greeting and smooth running that you would get at a WDW resort!

Tooth Fairy-

Can you explain a little more please? What kinks were there? Do you know why the pool closed at 5? Was this a one time thing or is this the norm? I'm a little concerned about the 5 pm pool closure.

Thanks for your help.

The pool and hot tub don't close at 5pm. Just the slide and lazy river at dusk.
I found the staff and check in good. I stayed at Disney after our cruise and the check in and checkout there was a total pain in comparison. I don't think I'll be going to the economy Disney resorts again after this trip.
I think as a resort Ron Jon's is great and as time goes by only get better.

Cheers,
Grumbo

We will be staying at the Ron Jon Resort in a few weeks. I just made reservations for my 3 teens to take surf lessons while we are there. I made them through Cocoa Beach Surf School, but I guess you can also make them directly through the Ron Jon store. The guy I talked to said that they will soon have a place at the resort to sign up for surf lessons and rent surf boards ect. Sounds like fun!!

I spoke with customer service at the Ron Jon resort today. When I told her we would be there in May, she stated that the main pool and jacuzzi were open from 8am-11:30pm and the Lazy river and slide were open till dark. I was also informed that if we arrived early (which we wont) then we could use the pool area until our room was ready. We cant wait for our stay!

Maria,
The number I used is 888-933-3030. I had to leave a message but someone called me back promptly. The discount code is 102 as found in the Florida Travel magazine - good for 25% off. We have a rate of $97.50 for a studio.

The web site is Ron Jon Resort

Hope this helps! We are excited for our stay as well!! :hyper:
