Hi, I just called Ron Jon's Resort and was told by Tuesday that there is a shuttle to the Port from the Resort. I have been trying to research here if anyone has experience with the shuttle but to no avail. Pros and cons of the shuttle anyone? Lots and lots of good things have been said about the resort here and we are thinking about giving up the Radisson as long as the shuttle works pretty good. We like to be one of the first at the Port. I know that Dave from Marietta states that a taxi is cheap but how reliable are they? Thanks!

There is? Must be something new. When I made my reservation they didn't have one.

I would like to know more about the shuttle also since we are staying there the night before our cruise.

Dave, you were correct about one thing. The shuttle service is contracted out to Travel Lynx. The concierge took my reservation for the shuttle. I could choose anytime I wanted. I chose 9:30 because if I remember correctly the terminal opens at 10:00. There is a fee for the service and he said 10.00. They also shuttle from the airport to the Resort. I didn't book that yet or have any info on it since I have not yet booked the air. We like Tiffany so we can have a grocery stop or we like to rent a car when we go to the Radisson. Now that Avis is gone we chose a different route. Something new and different is always good, right? Hopefully, Travel Lynx will allow a grocery stop.

Does anyone know if Ron Jon's will allow you to park your car at the resort while you're on the cruise? My parents are going as well and we were thinking of hauling everyone and all of our luggage over to the port in our 2 cars, then 2 people running back to the resort to park the cars and catching a shuttle or taxi back over to the port. This scenario will only work if they allow parking at Ron Jon's! :)

Ok, I called the shuttle service, Travel Lynx @ 321 631-7796 and talked to Tim. The cost of airport to Ron Jon Resort would be 55.00. Price from hotel to grocery store would be 20.00. Price to the port is 10.00. They have 15 person motor coaches on up to bigger coaches.

I used the code 102 to book a studio villa @ 75.00 per night. A one bedroom villa was around 104.00 with the code.

Sorry MrsPotatoHead, I don't know the real answer to your question. I believe there is a side lot to park your car but I am unsure of that. Ron Jon's tele # is 1-888-933-3030

Okay I'm confused. I just spoke w/ Ron Jon's about rates for June and asked about a shuttle to the Port from their location. They said it was not free and she quoted me 5.00 per person. Are the fees mentioned (like 55.00 from airport) per person or for the whole trip? If only 55.00 that is cheaper than a towncar. We are family of 5. The reservation person also told me that there is no place in the resort to get breakfast...only lunch and dinner. How strange?? Nor is there anything w/in walking distance to buy food if you want for the kitchen. Guess we;ll have to bring own breakfast items.

Nevermind...just called Tim at Travel Lynx to clarify some things..

Price from Resort to Port is 5.00 per person. Price from MCO to Resort is 55.00 for first 2 people and 10.00 thereafter pp. If you flight arrives after 7pm they charge one addl 10.00 fee. So total would be for us 95.00 one way. They will also pick up after the cruise and back to MCO if wanted. You don't have to wait for shuttle to fill up if you book w/ them...He said they are nice vans. Not sure what to do now, price is same as town car. But would have to use them to get to the Port.

Hope this helps someone else.

What's the web site for Ron Jon's resort? I want to check it out.
Thanks!

We made our final decision. It will be cheaper for us to rent a car on Thurs and return it on Sat and have Avis shuttle us to the Port. Then we will catch the Avis shuttle at the Port after disembarking and rent a car for 7 hours the following Saturday and dropping it off at the Airport. I called Tiffany Towncar, who we highly recommend, and it would have been 160.00 roundtrip, plus tip, plus the Ron Jon Shuttle fee of 10.00. It will cost us a total of 137.00 to rent the cars on both legs of the trip, plus have it for a grocery run.

DISJen, here is the Ron Jon's site. Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort

Does anyone know for sure if you can leave your car at the resort for the week if you take the shuttle over to the port?

Their original answer to this question was "no", but as they've gotten many inquiries about this they've changed their answer to "yes".

Would my car be more secure in the Ron Jon Resort parking lot than in the Cruise Line Parking lot? I have felt pretty good about leaving it in the gated/fenced lot at the port before, but is Ron Jon's security better? We are staying there before and after the cruise as well, but were planning on leaving our vehicle at the port.

Anyone who is concerned with parking security should park at the port. The security for the port parking is tighter than any hotel or condo.

JiminyC_fan--what is the 102 code and can anyone use it? Where can I get more info on deals/codes for this resort?

Hym8tnnce, the code 102 was found in the February Florida Travel Magazine. Mention the code number when booking and you can save 25% on your room reservations. As far as any other codes I don't know. I learned about 102 on this board.
