Hey all;

My parents are going down to Orlando (but NOT WDW, they are staying with a friend at their timeshare condo) for a week in February.
My mom is trying to find something fun/romantic for them to do on one of the nights they are there.

All i know is WDW... and they really can't afford the one day ticket price ....

Any suggestions (they have been to medivil times, and Arabian Nights shows previously.. and would like to try something new and daring...)

How about a walk around the lake at the Boardwalk and the Illuminations fireworks from there? Parking is free if you are dining. I think it is my favorite place in the world.

I was also going to suggest dinner @ the Boardwalk and walking around afterward. It is a very romantic setting, my husband and I love it at night. We usually end up in jellyrolls and have a fantastic time.

**I just re-read and realize you aren't really looking for Disney based ideas. I really don't know anything about other stuff around Orlando .Sorry :O(

We loved La Nouba (but I know its not inexpensive.) We had drinks and an appetizer before the show at Bongos and dinner afterwards at Wolfgang Pucks.

We also love JellyRolls at the Boardwalk.

Winter Park is a small village like atmosphere with several options for dining and many shops.

Winter Garden Village (north of WDW, 20 minutes or so) is a huge new shopping and dining area that is nice, too. Depends upon where they are going to actually be geographically.

If they want to take a drive, Mt. Dora is really nice. Many shops and nice options for dining. The Windsor Rose is a lovely little tea house that serves more than tea.

Ceviche is downtown Orlando, on Church St. It's a great tapas place with live entertainment.

Hamburger Mary's is a seriously fun place, but not elegant dining by any means. Burgers are their claim to fame and wonderful atmosphere.

If they are going to be more on the east side of Orlando, Waterford Lakes is another nice shopping/dining area.

Leu Gardens is beautiful. No dining, but lovely place to visit.

They can check the Enzian to see if anything is playing that interests them while they are there. It's in Casselberry (north of Orlando) and is a very unique film viewing experience. Dinners are served.

Downtown Celebration has a couple of good places, one Japanese and one Italian, sorry, forgot the names. :santa:

The area around Dr. Phillips has a few good places on Sand Lake Road before I-4 off 535.

Try Trip Advisor for more info.

they can still enjoy Disney.

just go to dd - park the car - enjoy DD until about an hour before the firework start.

then take the bus to the Polyn - at the Polyn go to the beach and enjoy the fireworks with a drink....

afterwards at around 9:00pm the EWP is there too.

walking along the beach afterwards.

thanks for the suggestions..

I don't know where they are staying in the area (i don't even think they know where either).

I will suggest the Cirque show for them.. they may like that.
