Rose and Crown is a wonderful suggestion. We have been in Epcot the past few NYE and it is very, very, very crowded. We got there around 10:00 am and stayed till after midnight (me, my boyfriend, both in our early 40's and my boyfriends 15 year old son). We had PS at Rose and Crown for 6:30. On NYE they show IllumiNations twice. I believe the first time is at 7:30. This worked out great for our 6:00 PS. We requested an outside table - and got it. This is very hard to get. We were able to enjoy the 7:30 IllumiNations while having coffee and desert. Of course we stayed for the 11:40 IllumiNations - just have to do the countdown. The 11:40 show is the same plus they add extra fireworks at the end. There are fireworks behind each country and then at midnight there are fireworks behind the American Adventure and all over the lake. I love doing this but the crowds are unbelieveable.
Another great suggestion is 'Ohana. This is our favorite place to eat. I am not sure but I think the MK does fireworks twice on NYE. Try to make your PS for an hour to an hour and a half before the firework begin. When you check in, request a window table in the main dining room. We did this this past October and December and had a great view of Wishes. They dim the lights and pipe in the music. This way you do not have to deal with the crowds in the parks but still enjoy the fireworks.
Just one more thing, when we made PS for NYE they asked for a credit card to hold the PS. I believe you have 48 hours to cancel or you will be charged $10 per person. This was only for NYE and not any other night.
